Are you a research student? Organising a study day is an excellent way to bring together academics who share your research interests. It's also a valuable way to gain experience of working within uni administration structures for research students seeking a career in academia.
On 20-21 Feb 24, #ICMUS will host a two-day in-person academic symposium for PGRs working on Medieval and Renaissance English Music. The symposium will also host Dr Kerry McCarthy on 21 Feb at the ICMuS Research Seminar. For more info, see email contact in image

A real team effort, but here are some initial thoughts on this fragment. Input at various sections from @Wilus1969, @elsie33, @MichaelWinter99, and Magnus Williamson.
tl;dr not a fragment by Fayrfax but rather a compositional excersise based on Fayrfax 'O Lux Beata' (1/10)
And here is how it sounds (warts and all) It's a little quick as I had to keep the length under twitter's time limit...
Please excuse the midi sounds...
this is not a #chant#fragment but it not #chant in a pretty interesting way! also Tudor music is fun so here is a thread about a "Fayrfax" "O lux" (scare quotes on both counts) 1/
@djktrumpet I don't know Ganassi but I'll check him out. Sounds like that they both belong to the same tradition of academic excersises. In the fragment above we have markings of 6:1, 3:1, and 4:3
@CamLibResearch@CamUniLibrarian Thank you both - I meant what I said about it being a team effort. This bit of research benefited from the experience and knowledge of quite a few people which helped me put this thread together only a short time after @Wilus1969 came across the fragment
