Cigar purchased, hopeful - but realistic - it may be on the golf course next week. But, no better place to be on 3rd Saturday in October.

We started as fierce competitors and became trusting friends - I am glad to be in Shelbyville today honoring Senator Jim Tracy at his Bridge dedication and naming ceremony. I miss our discussions on moving Bedford and Rutherford Counties forward.

It is very inspiring to see the positive impact my friend John Floyd has in Middle TN. He personifies living with a servant’s heart. Yesterday, Ole South partnered with U.S. Bank and Freedom Alliance to deliver a new home to a very deserving U.S. military veteran.

It gave me chills hearing my friend Mike Keith say those immortal words “It’s Football Time in Tennessee” for the first time as Voice of the Vols.

Nashville Business Journal & Lipscomb hosted an excellent breakfast w/ Senator Bill Frist. His insights on health policy & conservation were interesting & the discussion on the role private foundations have played in improving the quality of life for Nashville was eye-opening.

I am happy for my friend as he heads back to Knoxville.

I’m glad that a nationally televised audience watching ESPN-U learned what I already know — the Lady Raiders are impressive, and I expect them to be dancing in March Madness.
