Well today was certainly an emotional one! Some of you know I’ve been battling cancer - rectal cancer to be exact. After major surgery to remove my rectum, anus and part of my lower bowel and form a permanent stoma I learned today that I’m CANCER FREE!!!! Now it’s time to live life! 🎊🎉🥂

Clear scans. Today I am officially 7 years cancer free after a stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis.

Six years ago today I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer! Today I am cancer free, my body is being restored and my faith in God is stronger than ever!

I’m so grateful God saw fit to cover me and allow what I learned on my cancer journey to be used to help others!

Today I celebrate just because! Pay attention to your body. You know your body better than any doctor!

Yesterday, while I was walking through our hospital lobby, someone called my last name.
he smiled and said, "I was your patient three years ago. I just wanted to thank you for taking care of me. I never forgot you."

I was honestly speechless.

As nurses, we don't always realize that what feels like a routine shift to us can mean so much to someone else. A simple act of kindness and genuine care can stay with a patient for years.

Moments like this remind me why I chose to become a nurse. 🤍

I love Nursing now working in Oncology and I have just been accepted to do my SACT training through Guys and St Thomas Cancer Academy … Oncology is never a career move I thought I would make BUT I am so happy that I did above all I am in awe of my patient the battles they face and the absolute strength and determination they show I am truly humble .. pay it forward … offering something back to humanity 💙💙

Today was my Friday in the nursing world. 🩺 ♥️ The past 3 nights in the ER were wild!! I know I have so much to be thankful for, but today, for the first time in a long time, I came home with so much to say… and nobody to say it to. Silence is the loudest noise you will ever here.
