@GeraldoRivera I admire your reporting on Willowbrook, but wasn’t that a state institution? Why would feds do better? Big-gov “solutions” often fail but rarely end—e.g. Willowbrook. By contrast, private charities must succeed to earn support. Not perfect, but at least some market discipline.

@EconTalker Great episode with Doyne Farmer! Sounds like he builds large Monte Carlo simulations. Powerful tools, but don’t they just move the magic (or less charitably, the guesswork) to the assumptions/rules driving the choices of each “agent,” which in turn map out the paths?
