Here's the question I think we should be asking about school improvement right now: What would be the impact on student achievement of giving every teacher 25 hours of professional learning on the science of learning? Without this, leaders cannot prioritize improvement efforts.

Finally watched Adolescence. The world’s given its take and here’s my microscopic contribution: the school in episode 2 is entirely plausible. Writing its depiction off as an ‘insult’ to teachers is tribal. I’ve seen many schools with this decaying level of culture. What resonated? 🧵

As my PhD shows, economic history was the most popular course for the working class in the 20s and 30s. Imagine that, 11 hrs down pit then straight into the cold church hall to listen to history. Bliss…apart from the pit bit.

#데블스플랜 is a beautiful example of why Korea (and many Asian countries) kick our backside in the STEM arena. A prime time TV game show which is a mix of @imacelebrity and a late night Open University lecture on mathematics. Highly recommend on Netflix.
