This is the story of a hero - Aviv Eliyahu, the head of security at the Nova Music Festival.

On the morning of October 7, as thousands of terrified young people suddenly found themselves fighting for their lives, Aviv stepped into the role of his life - with remarkable courage.

At 6:30 a.m., as a massive barrage of rockets began, Aviv rushed to the command post, grabbed the central PA microphone, and told the crowd to lie flat on the ground and cover their heads to protect themselves from shrapnel. An hour later, as reports came in that terrorists had infiltrated the area, Aviv realized Route 232 had become a death trap and ordered police vehicles to block festivalgoers from driving toward Hamas ambushes.

When he saw the first wounded people returning from the main road, Aviv understood there was no safe way out. He directed the crowd east through the open fields toward Moshav Patish. “Run toward the sun!” he shouted. Those few words showed thousands the way to safety.

When the terrorists reached the area, Aviv joined the security forces and police and fought them, eliminating some of the terrorists. When the ammunition began to run out, the terrorists fired an RPG at the police vehicle he was using for cover. Aviv was killed there alongside another police officer.

Aviv was taken from the people who loved him most. He left behind a wife, two children, parents and siblings. Because of his courage, thousands of others made it home alive.

BREAKING: Trump commits his most pro-corruption crime yet by PERMANENTLY deleting the database that lists the "beneficial owners" of U.S. legal entities — meaning criminals can now easily hide behind shell companies.

"It's like Trump ordering the deletion of the FBI's fingerprint database," stated former Congressman Tom Malinowski.

We may as well have elected Al Capone to be President...

"I helped pass this law in 2020. It's purpose is to prevent drug traffickers, Russian & Chinese kleptocrats, and other international criminals from setting up anonymously owned companies to hide their money in the US. Trump's Treasury Dept. is doing this to help criminals," Malinowski wrote on X in response to the announcement from the Treasury Department.

In their post, Treasury touted the decision by their Financial Crimes Enforcement Network to "permanently" remove the requirement that entities report "beneficial ownership information." Worse still, FinCEN also stated that they "will delete previously reported information by U.S. persons from the beneficial ownership information database."

The White House didn't even bother to construct a plausible explanation for the world-shaking decision, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent instead offering up some platitudes about "common sense" and cutting "red tape."

But the motivation is painfully transparent. This administration is stuffed to the gills with white collar criminals. They're lining their pockets with sweetheart deals, running crypto scams, and constructing elaborate financial architectures for hiding and laundering money. This new decision makes it far more difficult for upstanding law enforcement agents to detect and prosecute these wrongdoings.

"'Beneficial ownership information'" is just a record of who actually owns a company. That's all that was being reported here, so that we didn't have LLCs in Delaware laundering millions of dollars through the US and into offshore banks on behalf of totally anonymous people," wrote Malinowski.

"Treasury deleting the beneficial ownership info it already gathered is utterly crazy. This database was not public -- it was just for law enforcement to use in investigating crimes. It's like Trump ordering the deletion of the FBI's fingerprint database," he continued.

"Why is the Trump administration doing this? I don't know. But it's certainly good news for rich Russians who want to buy his condos, or Gulf royals buying his fake crypto. The true identities of people he's done business with, if registered with Treasury, will now be deleted," he went on.

This particular point is crucial. Trump has been taking bribes out in the open (look no further than his Qatari jet) so one can only imagine what he and his family are raking in from foreign governments behind closed doors. By deleting this database, he makes it much easier for America's adversaries to funnel money to him and his cronies. This isn't just criminal, it's downright treasonous.

"Last but not least, this is totally illegal!" added Malinowski. "Congress passed a law -- with strong Republican support BTW -- saying Treasury had to collect and keep beneficial ownership info. The Trump administration cannot say 'we're just not going to do it.'"

"This will find its way to court. It will be struck down. But the deletion of data currently available to law enforcement may be irreversible," he concluded. "It's one of the most lawless and corrupt things this administration has done, and that's saying a lot."

The illegality would be relevant under any other President, but with Republican control of Congress we can safely presume no action will be taken until after the midterms when Democrats obtain subpoena power. And since we likely can't undo the database deletion, we need to investigate and prosecute everyone who was involved in it.

Three months after Hitler’s defeat, a Polish mob tried to finish what the Nazis started.

It was Shabbat morning in Kraków. Jews who had just survived Auschwitz were praying in the Kupa Synagogue.

A blood libel rumor exploded through the streets: the familiar lie that Jews were kidnapping and killing Polish children.

The crowd smashed into the synagogue, dragged the survivors into the street, beat them, trampled the Torah scrolls, and set the building on fire. Violence spilled into Jewish homes. Polish policemen and soldiers joined in.

Róża Berger, 56, an Auschwitz survivor, was shot dead through the closed door of her apartment.

Sadly, this was one of many similar incidents Jewish survivors faced in Europe after the Holocaust; it would come to a climax a year later in Kielce.

The gas chambers were silent.
The hatred was not.

The Jews of Europe still had nowhere to go.
Until Israel was reborn three years later.
Today, Jews always have somewhere to go.
