A few scattered high based showers and storms capable of producing lightning, gusty winds, and spicy cloud formations today.

Coverage of showers on Friday is even less. Mainly confined to areas south of I-70.

Similar story for the weekend, but the big story will be the early summer heat.

A mix of 80s and low 90s today including the western slope.

Very similar temperatures for Friday.

The weekend: we dial it up a notch. Widespread 90s. #LeGagMe

Grid models and ensembles have a mean high temperature for Denver on Saturday of 93 and 92 on Sunday. #LeGagMeAgain

We'll taper it off Monday. Back into the 80s. Some low 90s may hang on along the Highway 50 corridor.

Then widespread 90s may try to crash the party again Tuesday - Thursday of next week, but the caveat is that I think we have better chances of seeing scattered showers and stormy storms again.

Of course the drama is in the details. No day will be the same. Keep checking in with me each mernin for the day's details and when I have a better idea of how the long range weather pattern will shake out, I'll pass those deets along.

* At 320 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles south of Galeton, or 8 miles east of Greeley, moving east at 10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
