Toxic stress derails brain dev. It is also frozen in the nervous system.The behaviour we see is the way thr brain has developed & adapted to that environment.That behaviour works well in that environment but does not work well in school, then we punish them for that behaviour🧠🌱
Young people with relational trauma can get stuck in dysregulation.Their stress response system is activated, & their body is out of balance.The cortex narrows & they automatically turn to fight,flight,& freeze.We need to help them calm the body before we can calm the brain.🧠🌱
