Can you imagine a time when Australian media outlets stop running sympathetic headlines for men who kill women and children?
Today’s specials include the killer of Tunchanok Donhomla justifying his decision to bash the tiny 17-year-old girl to death and dump her naked body in a suitcase. This was after Simon Peter Carman decided to pay her for sex. She’s a fucking child.
Meanwhile, https://t.co/t1aCilPX4j is letting us know about his ‘sad’ life. Cry me a fucking river. He’s a child sex abuser who killed a girl. End of story.
2027 university fees were announced today. Next year an arts degree will cost $54 000, a combined degree $90 000.
The Job-Ready Graduates scheme doubled the cost of arts, law, finance and economics degrees.
It's now been in place longer under Anthony Albanese than Scott Morrison.
It's been described as the worst thing ever to happen to HECS.
It has contributed to a cost-of-learning crisis which is preventing graduates from buying homes and starting families.
The Job-Ready Graduates Scheme must go.

My piece in the @GuardianAus today arguing govts can't afford to repeat the mistakes they made with the gas industry.
With huge investment in data centres - why aren't we asking what this is all for and how Australians are going to benefit from it?
If we do want data centres and multinational tech giants are going to use Australian land, Australian energy, Australian water & Australian workers to build the infrastructure that powers the AI revolution, then Australians deserve a fair return.
That's the lesson we failed to learn with gas. We shouldn't wait another generation to learn it again.

Australians- We need tax reform & more affordable homes!
Labor- Ok, we’ve reduced income taxes, removed tax discounts that pervert the housing market, increased the appeal of dividend stocks & closed loopholes for uber wealthy users of trusts
LNP/Whine Nation- No! Not like that
When my dad started work at Royal Perth Rehabilitation Hospital in the early 80’s I ‘em to recall there was still at least one person living in an iron lung. I grew up with kids who were crippled by it. I am so grateful for vaccines.
I remember as a child in the 1960’s going to visit people in a rehabilitation hospital in Adelaide who had had polio & were living their entire subsequent lives in an iron lung. Without the iron lung, they could not breathe. I am so grateful for the Salk vaccination against polio
I don't know about you all but I'd rather like to see more of John Lyons and Laura Tingle on my @abcnews
and less of Dave Sharma, Patricia Karvelas, David Speers, Greg Jennett and Sarah Ferguson.
Who else would?

@BobBrownFndn@ifreelydissent An absolute textbook case study of how to totally ruin a brand and a corporate reputation, not to mention the environment. They will be studied for years to come. Thank you for your advocacy
The Supreme Court of Tasmania today heard Forestry Tasmania’s appeal in our case to protect Swift Parrots from logging. “Logging is destroying the only breeding habitat of this critically endangered species. It must cease immediately.” #politas
