@mattwridley Can someone content note this guy’s post because it’s false information. Hedgehog numbers have been declining because of human activity including the destruction of natural, wild spaces in the UK and Europe. This leads to lack of safe shelter, as well as food shortages for 🦔🦔

[Hedgehog Cabin @HedgehogCabin]

What a load of nonsense!😂 Quite inventive!
Are you financed by fox hunters or farmers, by any chance?
Please stop spreading this misinformation.
It does no one any good and just encourages hedgehog lovers to hate and be afraid of badgers.
Badgers and hedgehogs have lived peaceably together side by side for 125,000 years.
The badgers didn't suddenly decide to go on a hedgehog murdering spree, you know.🙄
They are incredibly tolerant of each other.
Their diets are similar so they compete for food, but without aggression.
This iniquitous rumour about badgers is spread by the deviants who enjoy torturing and killing animals, hoping to get hedgehog lovers to validate their depravity.
Badgers are NOT hunters, you don't need a degree in zoology to know that, you only have to look at their body shape, their eye position, and sweet lumbering gait.😁
They are foragers, and 80% of their diet is earthworms. Of course any animal dying of starvation will act unnaturally, if that's the only way to survive.
Humans have been know to eat each other, in extremis.
So a starving badger may attempt predating a hedgehog, or any other animal, if it's risk that or death.
That doesn't mean anything.
Hedgehogs are no more part of badger's natural diet as mud is to a starving third world child.
And as for the 'hollowed-out skins' - dear me, this is so ignorant.
Anyone with even a passing knowledge of badger dentition knows this is impossible, utter nonsense.
These empty skins are sadly all what's left of dead hedgehog, whose cause of death is usually parasite invasion or starvation, after birds - corvids mainly - have finished scavenging the corpse.
See all those little dimples? They are peck marks.
And badgers don't have beaks.😊

@wearehappydoggo I wish more people loved animals like this

🔊 It's the end of an era. New York City is banning its iconic horse-drawn carriage rides from 2028 — a decision sparked by the death of a tourist killed when a carriage horse bolted this summer. Listen to the Reuters World News podcast for more https://t.co/PRTXp1VqiS

Our hedgehogs are eating us out of house and home! 🫣🦔

We're putting out another little plea to our wonderful supporters, as our supplies of tinned dog and cat food are running very low!

We currently have lots of hungry mouths to feed, including plenty of Britains favourite mammal 🦔.

We've updated our Amazon Wishlist with the food we desperately need, and we'd be incredibly grateful if anyone could spare a tin or two.

🛒 You can find our wishlist here:

Every single tin makes a difference, helping us keep our prickly patients well-fed as they recover and prepare for their eventual return to the wild.

Thank you, as always, for being there when we need you. We really couldn't do what we do without your kindness and generosity! 💚

Outdoor fake spider webs are lethal to wildlife. Birds, bees, bats, and small mammals easily get trapped and perish.

Please keep synthetic webs strictly indoors or opt for eco-friendly alternatives! 🍂

@googlehealth only my calories are synching with the app. Nothing else. I’ve uninstalled, unpaired, turned on and off everything. Been happening for two weeks where no other data is logging on the app. My Fitbit works fine. Just the app. Can’t get through to anyone either.

[Hedgehog Cabin @HedgehogCabin]

A smile to start your weekend.😍
Hedgehogs have survived, unchanged, for 15 million years.
15 million years!
Just think - our humble little garden visitors once walked with woolly mammoths and sabre-toothed tigers.
They survived so well because they are resourceful, adaptable, courageous and problem-solving.
Just look at how this clever boy solves the problem of the feeder being bricked up.
You wouldn't expect that level of intelligence from a humble little hedgehog, would you?😊
The fact our hedgehogs are on the brink of extinction now, despite surviving persecution, drought, famine, and the ice age, is a serious indicator of how just how profoundly endangered our fragile ecosystem has become.
Please do what you can to help these gentle, clever little animals.
While hedgehogs who are healthy and well nourished will have hibernated now, those who are sickly or underweight are still around, desperately searching for a kind garden that provides.
Please leave out a dish of fresh clean water each evening, by your back and front door. A dish of dry kitten food kept safe inside a feeder would be a life saver.(Please see https://t.co/17t0uiehuv for how to make one).
Remember to leave the leaves where they fall, and keep the edges of your garden and at least one corner uncut and undisturbed all winter, to allow natural food to safely live and grow.

Vets CAN treat grey squirrels — the RCVS confirms!
https://t.co/4H96cRH0Ik
We're delighted that Vet Record, the journal of the British Veterinary Association, has covered Nala's Nook and Urban Squirrels' press release to challenge the widespread misconception that vets are legally prohibited from treating grey squirrels.
The RCVS has confirmed that vets can provide routine treatment and that their professional obligations concerning emergency first aid and pain relief still apply.

@jurassic_parrot Thank you for doing what you do to help our planet and animals!

Birds play with just about anything, even rubbish. Items such as rubber bands, food wrappers and strings can cause injuries or even death, which is why it's imperative that we dispose of rubbish properly.

This poor baby is Johnny, a referral from my❤️vet. Found out in the day, just 163g.
Emaciated, hypothermic&full of internal parasites😢. Johnny’s lack of progress is a real concern, I worry for him, but hope that with meds&time he’ll recover. Providing food &water will save lives

Please delete this.
It’s a lie, and it’s a dangerous lie that could end in lives being lost.
This poor mum and her babies were deliberately driven from their nest and filmed for likes.
I have no doubt that at least one of these babies lost their lives for the sake of this filmmaker’s greed.
Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals, they don’t come out in the day, and they certainly do not bring their precious babies out into the dangerous daylight world.
This kind of cruelty spreads the message that seeing the hedgehog in the daytime is perfectly normal, instead of it being the emergency that it is.

Every dog in this video would be in huge trouble (a couple would be dead) were it not for the medial care.

Some very special dogs here ❤️

@howertonjosh The Catholic Church is Jesus Christ’s Church. Be careful not to deviate from our Lord’s teachings.

[Michelle Mooney @MichelleMJourno]

@howertonjosh Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. And I’d look at your own ‘church’ first. Mega churches have a nasty habit of working for vast profits and men like yourself enjoy being celebrities in their communities. Jesus taught love and humility. Be like Him.
