By July 2021, social media (SM) users grew to 4.2 billion. SM has become a thriving resource for users who want to explore new information or ideas, resolve issues they encounter, and gain new perspectives. I hope we use this power well and to help the community. #info246w82
@JulieMcP43 @Rural_Jedi @EveryLibrary@Medium I like your link source on ROI and how well you explained. Libraries would really benefit from using free resources to keep track of their social media too.
Libraries should focus on their best social media account to figure out the best metric action. For example, YouTube finds importance in viewer watch time. To them, the more watch time a video has, the more engaging their algorithm is.#info246w719
@emm_el_eye_ess@OIF I hadn't even known about LinkedIn Learning merging with Lynda until it was announced at my job. Afterward, we had to explain to patrons why we canceled their association with our free resources. It was a bit upsetting for them, but we have to make their data stay protected.
The library continues to respect privacy through ALAโs principles, embedded in its โLibrary Bill of Rightsโ and actively promoted by ALAโs Intellectual Freedom Committee and its Privacy Subcommittee. Let's keep patron information safe and be in a nonjudgmental space. #INFO246w75
@robyndero21 I think creating and sharing memes would help gain traffic for libraries. It would also be a playful insight into what we worry about in a library environment.
@amy_mlis I absolutely love this post because I am a huge fan of bees. They play a vital role in our natural environment, and I love any Save the Bees movement. I should encourage my library to also do these types of posts..
I love how Orange County Public Library uses social media to advertise their mobile units such as the OC One-Stop Unit for employment assistance and Wi-Fi on Wheels that provides broadband for users outside. #INFO246w621
Hello everyone! For some reason, my post never went through. Sorry for the delay. My name is Michelle and I live in Long Beach. I tend to explore downtown because there are so many interesting murals and local shops. The Pike is also a fun way to spend an evening. #INFO246w67
@pradobriansjsu It has been such a long time since I have been camping. I am pretty sure I would be terrible at it. One of my coworkers is really into camping, so maybe I will try it out with her.
