Today marks 1 year as a lawyer🎉 I've learned so much this year, and managed to make submissions in all levels of court in SK. I'm so privileged to have brilliant mentors and colleagues who challenge and support me. I really love this field, and I'm so excited for what's to come!

@BrianPfefferle True! I think the salary would be more fitting if police weren't expected to resolve so many issues outside of their bailiwick-- but considering that they're expected to do about 10 different jobs, a raise and more training is in order until that changes.

I find it wild that I need a 3 year degree with a year of articling to apply the law from behind a desk, while police who are out there making spur of the moment (sometimes life and death) decisions only get 6 months of training for everything. More training is the bare minimum.

Got 3 vaccines at once today. I love vaccines and am thrilled to have them- but I can also confirm my skeleton is trying to escape my corporeal form, which is itself on fire. I've now completed my evolution into a bedridden Victorian woman, complete with cats.

@Leah_M_Howie I was in that first class, and naively thought that concepts like white privilege were well understood by my generation. Unfortunately, the response from the soon to be lawyers was defensiveness and vitriol. Dr. Lavallee is an incredible teacher and she deserved better than us.

This week I gave my first submissions in court on a somewhat complicated constitutional issue and it felt amazing! It was a really exciting first, and I can't wait to be in court for more.
