@rocktea0@HuskerMike28 Our schedule?? Do you know we have the have 3rd toughest schedule in big 10 teams and 3rd strongest non conference games that's why FPI was 14th going into Maryland this weekend
@realEvanKale@HuskerMike28 I agree there more money to be made when both teams are ranked coming into the fox sports big noon kickoff. I think 24th or 25th
@Darkhorse1775@HuskGuys I agree this team is so different then the past teams that struggled, came back just to lose in the end. We knew it wasn't always going be pretty but we winning in the end and winning by 17+ points which haven't done since 2001
@RHULEROFNEB I think be just fine next man up, plus Hunter came out party was with Maryland so he's gunna have repeat performance, we Clark & Mills so we will be fine w/out Barney this game and line just blocking doesn't matter who had the rock....45 to 13 Go Big Red
4 years hard work not playing time or rewards to show but then year 5 4 game of season a hometown kid gets his glory for sweat, the pain, the work to score 2 TDs and rare gameball by his team and coach!....these moments are what life is about #gbr#respecttheprocess
@SkersNews Huskers win next we will be ranked going into big noon kickoff against Indiana. It disappointing bc Huskers were ranked 26th last week with 8 voters to be ranked but this week somehow is wash ๐คท๐ผ
@HuskGuys 2021 we was at that hot 95ยฐ opening day game. We climbed back to take lead defense held up til we did then right after we took lead Illinois drives down the field and scores. Definitely a tough loss
Jamal Rule is from Salisbury, North Carolina. Three-star recruit. The only schools that offered him were Nebraska, Michigan State, Syracuse and Virginia Tech.
He's also one of the fastest big men you'll find. At Charlotte Christian he won the state title in the indoor 500 meters at 1:04.07, which was the ninth fastest time in the entire country that season.
He weighs 210 pounds.
On his recruiting profile, in the section where most kids list their bench press, he wrote this instead.
"Each time I step on the field, I remind myself that playing football is an honor that many players never receive. I watched my parents make countless sacrifices which drives me to make the most of every opportunity life presents."
September 5, his first college game. Nebraska vs Ohio at Memorial Stadium.
Dana Holgorsen said that when Rule showed up in the summer, he was a nervous, anxious kid walking around campus with wide eyes.
Mekhi Nelson, the junior running back, could hear him through the wall before kickoff, hyping himself up so loud that Nelson had to tell him to save some of it for the game.
Then the team walked to the mouth of the tunnel and Rule saw the crowd.
"Just walking out onto the field seeing all the fans, I teared up a little bit. I was like, wow. It's great to be here."
He got the ball three straight times inside the red zone on Nebraska's first drive and scored on the third.
By the end of the day he had 122 rushing yards, 47 receiving, and three touchdowns on 17 touches.
He became the first Nebraska freshman running back to run for 100 yards in a season opener since 2004, and just the sixth Big Ten freshman since 1995 with two rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown in the same game. PFF graded him the second best running back in the country that week.
Here's the part that tells you who he is.
Late in the game, with Nebraska up big, Memorial Stadium started chanting.
RUUUUUUULE.
He didn't think it was for him. Nebraska has a tight end named Luke Lindenmeyer who gets a chant that sounds almost identical, and Rule assumed that's who they meant.
Then it happened again.
"Whoa. That's me."
He's now the third leading rusher in the Big Ten. Holgorsen was asked this week whether they'd scale him back.
"He doesn't look like a freshman to me, so we won't treat him like one."
@OKJasonSmooth@HuskGuys Husker fan in da greatest rivalry ever! I love it! I'm in Badger land rocking the Scarlett and cream ๐ I think this year we will get an upset
