Recording Academy may revamp 'Best Asian Pop Music Performance' category ahead of 2027 #GRAMMYs.
“There are some artists in this space who feel that this category isn't representing the music they work so hard to create”.
consigo entender a frustração de umas pessoas daqui em relação ao bts, porque absolutamente TODO MUNDO adora e conhece eles. achei muito fofa a reação do coringa quando escutou o começo de dynamite e o tanto de gente postando eles nos stories
calling the attention of @SMTicketmaster sino naman nagsabing good idea na wag kami bigyan ng option to select our own seats? ang tagal ng processing dito inaabot ng ng minutes tapos di na pala available yung section.

In 2021, McDonald’s paid BTS about $9 million to launch the BTS Meal. That quarter, McDonald’s brought in $290 million more in sales than analysts expected, and McNugget sales in Korea jumped 250% in four weeks. Oreo just signed the same band.
Oreo is owned by Mondelez, a $36.4 billion snack company. The Oreo brand by itself pulls in about $4 billion a year worldwide and sells around 60 billion cookies. The new BTS x Oreo collab launches June 8 across 80+ countries. The 2021 McDonald’s BTS Meal launched in 50.
The timing isn’t an accident. BTS finished mandatory South Korean military service in 2025. Their 2026 “Arirang” world tour is 82 stadium shows across 34 cities and 23 countries. Korean investment bank NH Investment & Securities estimates the tour will generate $5.3 billion in fan spending across the 44 host cities, counting hotels, food, merch, and tickets.
The fan base is the whole asset here. When BTS played a free concert in Seoul this March, merch sales at the nearby Shinsegae Duty Free shop jumped 430% in a week. The local Lotte Department Store made 30% more revenue that weekend than the same weekend a year before. Hotel rates in Busan, where BTS perform in June, surged up to 7x.
The fandom calls itself ARMY. An iPrice study put typical fan spending at about $1,400 a year on the group between merch, albums and concert tickets, and there are tens of millions of them worldwide.
From Oreo’s side, the bet is lopsided. A celebrity deal of this scale runs maybe $10 to 20 million, and BTS member V by himself reportedly charges $800,000 per sponsored post. If Oreo gets even part of the McDonald’s-style bump, the payoff is hundreds of millions in extra sales for a marketing spend roughly the size of one Super Bowl ad ($8 million in 2026).
Oreo also added something for the fans. QR codes on each pack send buyers to a digital “love letter to BTS” page that keeps the campaign alive after the limited cookies sell out. Mondelez collects fan contact info. The fandom gets to feel like part of something.
Oreo is making roughly the same bet McDonald’s made in 2021. Price tag: about one Super Bowl ad.
I think @Oreo should ask @fox34 why they're are attaching a vile message like that to the oreo brand on national TV. It's defamatory and damaging to both your brand and your brand ambassadors.

Subject line: Media Alert: Disparaging Broadcast Remarks regarding BTS x Oreo Collaboration.
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to alert your brand management and public relations teams to a recent television broadcast that negatively impacts the Oreo brand and your partnership with BTS.
On Good Day Lubbock (FOX34 / KJTV in Lubbock, Texas), managing editor and anchor James Eppler made highly disparaging remarks on-air regarding the BTS - Oreo collaboration. As a consumer, I believe this broadcast reflects poorly on Oreo’s brand reputation, disrespects your promotional partners, and alienates a large segment of your consumer base.
I wanted to ensure your corporate communications and legal teams are aware of how your intellectual property and partnership are being represented on broadcast television so that you may take appropriate action.
Thank you for your time,
Sincerely,
