@NZDoyleB How much of our taxpayer money is being spent on this farce of a ‘bill’? 6 months of select committee time and servant effort all for it to be voted down at second reading. Maybe don’t be such a hypocrite if you’re gonna whinge?
Claims of a bloated public service are just nonsense. In 2010 following the GFC the public service was 2.5% of the total workforce. In 2023 following COVID it was 2.6%. As the population has grown, demand for public services has grown too. (1/2)
The ironic thing about this is the more educated an individual is, the less likely they are to vote on right wing political parties. David is advocating for his own demise
#BHN David Seymour seems to have f#$k you power over our feckless Prime Minister who refuses to do anything when Seymour clearly breaks cabinet rules, if not laws #nzpol
David Seymour is a shareholding minister responsible for TVNZ who is deliberately targeting an individual TVNZ journalist who dare to criticize him or his government. His is a threat to media freedom. https://t.co/oImPgdK34l
Here's @NewshubNZ taking David Seymour to task for being a shareholding Minister which expressly forbids him from directing the broadcaster on editorial matters:
David Seymour on the hundreds of TV3 & TVNZ jobs lost:
‘There’s enormous self-pity... They have spent years celebrating & dancing at every slip that a politician makes... all of a sudden they say ‘but when we have a bad day you’ve got to be kind to us’.”

The government’s claim we “can’t afford” to continue with the free and healthy school lunches programme rings a bit hollow given their decision to prioritize tax breaks for mega landlords. School lunches are affordable, the National govt is choosing to prioritise other things.
@TaxpayersUnion Not sure you would want to relate the purchase and rental of land as a corporate hand out. Dangerously close to calling landlord beneficiaries. I'm sure your puppets at ACT wouldn't like it!
With the amount of concern @chrisluxonmp has shown about living conditions in Premier House, it sounds like it could benefit from a rental warrant of fitness @NZGreens
Staggeringly bad judgement from PM here. During Covid recession in 2020, Jacinda Ardern cut her own pay and pay of all MPs (while raising a toddler in Premier House). Regardless of your entitlement, you’ve got to lead from the front.

The fact the NZ Public Party is under investigation because it was forced to release internal documents to prove senior members aren't CIA agents is beautifully ironic #BTKisalizardperson#SoisJamiLee
