The other day my mother baited me into responding to a text by sending me a picture of Jamie Lee Curtis and waiting for me to start typing before sending her real question. It’s so smart I can’t even be mad.
I keep thinking about this Stokely Carmichael quote: “If a white man wants to lynch me, that's his problem. If he's got the power to lynch me, that's my problem. Racism is not a question of attitude; it's a question of power.”
