After hours of debating last night, the City of Columbia voted 6-1 in favor of the mask ordinance. The ordinance states that masks must be worn at all times in public places starting on Friday. @KOMUnews

This ordinance applies to anyone 10-years-old and above, but does have exceptions for anyone unable to wear a mask due to medical conditions. @KOMUnews

Columbia Public School parents face the big decision day as today is the deadline for them to submit their enrollment questionnaire deciding between online or in person classes for their students. @KOMUnews

Today Boone County dives into step three of phase two. This next step means occupancy limits are removed for most businesses. Even though restaurants occupancy restrictions have been lifted, not all are ready to dive in quite yet. @KOMUnews

With the update, Shakespeare’s indoor dining rooms are back, but not fully."We're going a little bit beyond that and being just a little bit more safe," Shakespeare’s Pizza manager Kurt Mirtsching said. "A little bit more conservative with our procedures and practices." @KOMUnews

Owner of Tallulah’s kitchen and home store, Mary Stauffer, told me that COVID definitely took a hit on business, but she believes in the community to shop local and adapt to the changes. @KOMUnews
