We used to complain about it all the time, as receptionists and were told 'overbooking isn't going anywhere'.

I had people burst into tears because they had no-where else to go. And no way to get to the nearest Travelodge's that did have rooms.

@SocialistHB @TravelodgeUK Used to work at Travelodge. They intentionally overbook because they believe that people will cancel.

It's a horrible system and people on the front desk are told to say 'there's a problem with your room' or 'the toilet is broken' to hide the overbooking fact.
