So excited to share that I am officially a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at James Cook University ✨
Excited for the next few years, working across several exciting projects, not just 🐸, but 🪰🦐🐨🐠🐕🪸🦪 in the Animal Genomics & Breeding Laboratory!
And not only did we find a range of phenotypic variation across the species, from susceptible
➡️ tolerant ➡️ resistant.
But we also found significant differences in outcomes and influences between repeated experimental exposures in this Critically Endangered #frog 🐸
It’s the first #frogfriday for 2025, so what better way then to share our new preprint 🐸🍄
We exposed corroboree frogs to a low dose of #chytrid to detect variation in individual responses using a genetic representation of almost the entire species… ⬇️

Our new preprint on designing and applying the first custom SNP array for a #frog is out now! 🤩🐸🧬
We then genotyped >900 Endangered corroboree frogs & looked at their population structure and diversity… with more exiting working coming soon 🤞

Check out our new preprint on the first frog SNP array we designed to help improve conservation efforts for corroboree frogs. Big shoutout to Miki Davidson @MicrobeMikfor for her awesome work leading this project! @Keogh_Lab@UniMelb @SciMelb

Elated to share the 2nd chapter of my #PhD was just published 🎉
We looked at the impacts of Bd isolate and dose used in experimental exposures, and found they have significant impacts on infection outcomes 👎🐸🍄

Check out the new paper by @MicrobeMik and colleagues from @OneHealthRes on the impact of Bd strain and dose on infection outcomes in corroboree frogs 🐸🐸🐸 @UniMelb @SciMelb

Yesterday was a deeply proud moment for me—my first PhD student, Miki Davidson @MicrobeMik, presented her completion seminar, showcasing all her incredible work on developing a selective breeding approach to enhance chytrid resistance in corroboree frogs. @UniMelb @SciMelb
#frog 🐸 & #herpetology 🐍 people has anyone got a list of all the amazing researches going on .bsky? The only sad thing I’m feeling is the thought of loosing you all on here 😢
The end is in sight!!! 🐸🎓🥳
If anyone is interested in coming along to my #PhD completion seminar, it’s this Thursday at 12pm AEDT
Link to join Zoom below, or in person on the Werribee campus!
The @batslab is seeking a PhD candidate (stipend provided) to work on the ecology of the eastern horseshoe bat🦇 & its sensitivity to the impacts of fire 🔥 | https://t.co/SQgCCXx25F | @westsyduhie@AusBats 📷 A. Musser
