Partner or perish: tree microbiomes and climate change
Can microbiome::tree coevolution guide outcomes for trees/forests resilient ecosystems into the future?
Excellent work by @sl_addison@megrua@Prof_Braj_Singh and the team.
Time to contribute towards the global Pinus radiata microbiome project is running out fast!
Thank you to colleagues in Ireland, Great Britain, France, and Spain who recently submitted samples!!
If your region is not included, please be in touch quickly.
@sl_addison
Members of the sampling team had travelled from Ohio and some from New Zealand to be part of sampling. It’s a privilege to be on Isla Cedros.
Marauding Microbiome hunters @sl_addison , @madegreene , @megrua , and @Steve_ScienceNZ here and with a great support team!
We are privileged to be sampling Pine tree microbiomes on the Islands Cedros and Guadalupe. These islands, off the coast of Mexico, are the ancient home to unique populations of Pinus radiata….. and, hopefully, microbiome associations
Please spread the word about 3 tenure track, hard-money microbiome faculty positions. These are well-resourced, come with their own grants, few teaching requirements (but lots of opportunities), potential to footprint in our marine lab.

Check out this opportunity to work on the Tree Root Microbiome Programme with two amazing scientists @n_j_day (@VicUniWtgn) and Loretta Garrett (@scion_research), all while earning a fully-funded PhD.

I just finished reading this review on Sunday evening and I have to say it's one of the nicest piece I've read for a long time. Very excited to go to work on Monday checking some of the ideas.
And that’s a wrap for sampling #treemicrobiomes in Australia. All states sampled - huge effort and kudos to the team.
Time for ‘a breather’ before the northern hemisphere sampling kicks off.
All potted up, and planted, and ready to go!
Can microbiomes in dry South Australian soils protect trees from drought?
Our experiment at The Plant Accelerator will help us find out. @AustPlantPhenom
