Four years after the racially-motivated massacre at Tops supermarket on Jefferson Avenue stole 10 beautiful souls, Buffalo’s East Side is still fighting to heal, rebuild, and be heard. I have stood with several of the families affected by this tragedy, and their pain did not end that day. The weight of this loss is something they carry every single day. My heart is with all the loved ones of the victims today. https://t.co/x8K9NDCS5Q

Happy World Maternal Mental Health Day! 🤰🏾🌍
To every woman navigating the beautiful, messy, and often overwhelming transition into motherhood: this day is for you 🌸✨ We talk a lot about the physical transformation of birth and recovery, but we don’t talk enough about the mental stress that comes with it.
Maternal health is also about how you feel, how you’re sleeping, and the support you have when things get heavy 💓🧠 and it’s long past time we stop telling women to just “tough it out.”
Research is helping us understand the unique hormonal and neurological shifts that only women experience - Making sure that the next time a woman tells her doctor she doesn’t feel like herself, there is a proven, effective plan ready for her. To learn more about the research we’re doing visit https://t.co/FoRkHfchK1 🔗
Let’s celebrate a future where maternal mental health is treated as the priority it truly is. These women are doing an incredible job and they deserve to be supported every step of the way!👩🏽🍼💪✨

As we wrap up National Minority Health Month, let’s get real: awareness is a great start, but it doesn’t move the needle—action does…
Health shouldn’t be a lottery based on your skin color or your zip code. Yet, for so many in our communities, the standard of care continues to fall short. Whether it’s being dismissed in the ER 🏥, struggling to find an affordable doctor in your area 🗺️, or having a healthcare professional who understands your background 📇, it’s a feeling that too many of us know far too well.
We’re sharing some concrete ways to bridge this gap in today’s post, with one of the most powerful tools being: research 🔬 For too long, medical breakthroughs have been based on data that only includes a select few. By participating in research, we ensure that the treatments of tomorrow are designed to work for our bodies and lives. It’s about moving from being seen 👀 to being heard 👂🏽, respected, and properly cared for.
These issues thrive in silence, but they break under the weight of a community that refuses to settle. Let’s keep bolstering health through our cultures, communities, and connections long after April ends!
Ready to be part of the solution? 🔗 Visit the link in our bio (https://t.co/FoRkHfchK1) to see how your participation in research is one easy, impactful way to help eliminate these disparities for good.
