These Letters 👇 are NOT written or sent by the coaches themselves!! 🚨

Recruits, these ID camp letters you get from CCSC, I really hope you know that the actual college coaches attending these camps are NOT writing these letters??!

Let us explain.

CCSC pays college coaches EXTRA money to use their logo and signature so they can trick you into thinking the coach wrote specifically to you.

So before you get excited that this school or that school wrote to you, they didn’t! It’s CCSC blasting eveyone the same letter, and making you feel like the coach wrote it to you.

It’s actually kind of smart on their behalf.

DM: In regards to your post about work rate…

My daughter is a 26, D1 verbal commit. Her college coach came to every single one of her games at Champions Cup in March.

He sent her a text after each game with VERY specific feedback. Lots of good stuff but also some really specific, crucial feedback - about her work rate on “both sides of the ball.”

He told her one of the games all he did was watch her when she DIDN’T have the ball (she plays the 10)!

He also asked her to send him film of every game she plays in going forward.

Just because she is a verbal commit, especially in these crazy times of NCAA soccer, doesn’t mean she can sit back and coast.

DM: I’m sorry but get to the facts. You can either help us or you can’t. I had an individual meeting with one of my forwards yesterday telling me how she’s going to work hard this offseason. You’re on 70% of a scholarship kid, you have scored zero goals in two years, and you can’t stay healthy. We told her we were moving on without her and it’s best to enter the portal. Your audience needs to understand the reality of the next level. I just negotiated two more years in my contract. I have to win. It’s not personal. Keep posting the truth.

DM: I’ve been coming to the Jeff Cup for years and I don’t remember ever seeing this many uncommitted 2026’s. Great ones too! You can tell the D1 roster limit is affecting a lot of recruits. Sadly when you talk to their club coaches, the kids are still holding out for D1 roster spots because they’re in “conversations” with them. Even though we all know they are done with their roster but they need to fill their ID camps. You will see more D1 or bust unfortunately when they could have considered other great options.

Recruits and Parents

Been saying this for years. There are not enough playing opportunities for every kid that wants to play college soccer at the Division I level.
The era of recruiting development players is OVER.
You better be an exceptional athlete, player and person to get an opportunity at that level and be an impact.
There are literally tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of players vying for maybe 850-1000 spots in the Men’s side and 1500-1750 spots on the Women’s side annually.
Be open to all options if your goal is to continue playing in college. If your mindset is D1 or nothing you might want to come to terms that you will just have to attend a school and not participate in intercollegiate varsity athletics. And that is perfectly ok if that is the direction you choose to go with.
Just understand that the timelines are shifting, recruiting is completely different, and it is a transactional landscape.

🚨We just got this DM

My daughter is a 2025 player that verbally committed to a MAC program in Feb of 2024, signed her national letter of intent on signing day, applied to the school via early decision and was accepted and today she was contacted by the coach and told her scholarship was no longer available due to them opting into the NCAA settlement (28 pIayer roster limits). I have seen you help others on this site and just wanted to reach out for any insight/advice.

It is horrible that some programs are just letting 2025 players (who have signed) know they are being impacted and sadly looking at roster sizes in many conferences that are going to opt-in to #NCAA settlement there will be a lot more impacted players. Also us 👇

When you really look at the MATH in women’s college soccer. Just the senior class has over 8,000 players in the ECNL, ECNL/RL, and the GA alone. Not including everyone else.

IF every D1 school took 10 kids, that’s still only 3500 kids.

Meaning 5,000 kids left behind.

Recruits:
In the end you get about 80 games over 4 years to play. That is it.
So as a high school aged club player, take a good hard look at a roster, what the make up of that roster is, what the background of those players are, and what type of accolades those returning players have along with games and minutes played.
Then ask yourself a very important question.
“90 minutes total in a match, 11 players on the field at once. What are the odds of me getting any time that first year realistically. 28 players fighting for a grand total of 990 minutes?”
Most players that have entered the transfer portal are entering it due to playing time. Either they want more playing time or a coach told them to look at other options if they want more playing time.
Talent is talent and good players play. It’s a transactional world we now live in college athletics and the room for development has decreased significantly on college rosters.

DON'T BELONG AT YOUR CURRENT LEVEL!

At recruiting events, games, and ID camps you need to STAND OUT.

College coaches have countless of athletes to evaluate. To capture their attention, you need to play DIFFERENTLY.

Don’t be like everyone else. You need to develop a unique playing style, hone your skills, and consistently deliver STAND OUT performances. There are too many average players around the country. Average you can find any day of the week. But difference makers, the ones that stand out and play on a level above everyone else, those are harder to find. Those athletes are the ones college coaches want.

PLAY LIKE YOU DON'T BELONG AT YOUR CURRENT LEVEL!

DM: I’m noticing so much talent out there listed in the transfer portal and it got me thinking. If those kids were let go, my committed kids going to the same or similar schools don’t stand a chance and will also be in the portal a year from now their freshman year.

#CSTruth And the incoming freshman are too blind to see it, and so their commitment/effort to improve declines after they commit because they think they will be just fine since their club career is “amazing”. It doesn’t hit them until they sit the bench in college for the first time ever or get told to leave.

Montana State Billings NCAA D2 will drop their men’s soccer program.

“We know this is disappointing for our men's soccer student-athletes, coaches, and fans, but through analysis and discussions regarding current and projected departmental resources, it is necessary for us to realign our resources to meet our commitment to provide all of our student-athletes with a quality and transformative academic and athletic experience. This decision is in no way a reflection on the men's soccer program itself."

Basically you can thank NIL and the “realigning of resources” means to football and basketball. More programs around the country will be dropped soon to keep up with the NIL demands.
