Congress is not going to do a single thing the people want, or is even best. Nothing. Quite the contrary.
We are going to have to use the measures in the Constitution for the People and fix this ourselves.
Without that, we are cooked.
Stop looking for the latest takes from influencers, 'wow' notes on the latest debacle, relying on faith that one person, or a handful of people, are going to fix things.
That's not going to happen. That's at most temporary.
Learn, share and bitch accomplishes nothing. Not even at the voting booth.
Pockets of groups tackling specific issues, with particular goals, spread across countless 'platforms' is not going to have lasting or comprehensive effect.
We need a Real, National, Collective, Unemcumbered Citizens' Voice.
Until we stop and build that, correctly - the show will go on.

Big changes are underway in the US visa system.

For years corporations and lobbyists claimed the system was untouchable. They said opposition was fringe and that Americans had no real voice. That claim is collapsing.

Tens of millions of Americans on X are openly opposed to the current visa programs. That number alone far exceeds the total of work and student visa holders in the country. The opposition is not fringe. It is large and growing.

Public opinion has shifted. Earlier polls already showed significant resistance to H-1B expansion. More recent surveys show a clear majority now say the United States already has enough talent at home.

Investigations and enforcement actions are increasing. Agencies are finally treating the fraud and abuse as systemic rather than isolated. The political cost of defending these programs keeps rising.

Americans are not asking for minor reforms. More of them want the programs scaled back or ended. Every high-profile layoff of American workers, every fraud case, and every investigation brings more people to that conclusion.

The numbers tell the story. A few million visa holders versus tens of millions of citizens who no longer buy the corporate narrative.

For the first time in a long while the pressure is coming from the public, not just the lobbyists.

They leveraged political and media contacts to use the opportunity to further Dignity Index as a solution to Kirk's assassination, disguising themselves as the solution rather than questioning why for all their efforts UVU was the home to the assassination.

These NGOs would go onto publicly celebrate the increase in membership and support they received in the days after Kirk's assassination.

South Carolina SCGOP Drew McKissick’s explanation is pure gaslighting.
He admits the party created a waiver process controlled by the same insiders the new rules empower… then insists with a straight face that this power “exclusively exists to let people in” and that anyone who notices it can also be used to keep people out is telling “a lie, flat-out.”
That’s not a defense. That’s an insult to the intelligence of every Republican in South Carolina.
A gate that only the gatekeepers can open is still a gate. Pretending otherwise doesn’t make the SCGOP look principled, it makes them look like they think the base is too distracted or too dumb to notice the contradiction.

South Carolina Rep. Bruce Bannister, Harvey Peeler, and the rest of the South Carolina legislative pork machine just proved once again they can’t quit the trough.
After last year’s brief, self-congratulatory “pause” on earmarks, because even they admitted the process had ballooned into hundreds of millions of unvetted, last-minute handouts for local pet projects, nonprofits, and district favors, the same people who claimed they needed to rein it in are now setting aside $377.7 million in a special fund so a new “super conference committee” can dole it out later in the fall.
House Ways and Means Chairman Bruce Bannister (R-Greenville) and Senate Finance Chairman Harvey Peeler (R-Gaffney) led the negotiators who engineered this.
The House had pushed roughly $315 million in requests; the Senate around $130–150 million. Rather than actually decide which projects deserve taxpayer money based on statewide priorities, they punted the entire pile to a future closed-door (or barely public) process while trading away two-thirds of the Senate’s proposed expansion of the senior homestead property-tax exemption. Seniors get a watered-down $75,000 exemption instead of $150,000, legislators keep their “community investment” slush fund.
This is the same legislature that used to keep the entire earmark process secret under Mark Sanford, Nikki Haley, and early Henry McMaster, lawmakers didn’t even know if their requests survived until an agency called offering an oversized check for a photo-op.
Gubner Henry McMaster forced some sunlight, but the culture never changed. Conference committees still spend weeks negotiating in private, then stage a couple of hours of public theater.
Now they invent a “super” version of the same failed process because, supposedly, House members don’t understand Senate earmarks and senators don’t understand House ones. That’s their job. It’s literally what the regular budget conference committee exists to do.
Treating public money as individual legislators’ property to be divvied up by chamber (two-thirds House, one-third Senate, or whatever ratio makes the vote-counting work) is the definition of pork. Legitimate local infrastructure or needs should compete on the merits in the open, not survive because a powerful chairman needs to buy support for the rest of the budget.
Bruce Bannister’s claim that the extra time will let them “better decide which earmarks to fund and which to toss” is pure theater. We’ve heard this before. The process remains designed to protect the practice, not reform it.
South Carolina taxpayers just watched their legislature delay a budget past the start of the fiscal year, hold the state under a continuing resolution, and then congratulate themselves for a “compromise” that keeps the bacon sizzling.
Same names, same game, just a new bureaucratic con-job.

Who is going to deport Zohran and Ilhan when they find out they are here fraudulently?

Straight answer:

Both Ilhan Omar and Zohran Mamdani were naturalized asU.S. citizens.

When fraud in the naturalization process is ever proven:

1. **Denaturalization** comes first.
The Department of Justice (usually with a referral from USCIS) files a civil case in federal district court. A judge has to rule that citizenship was obtained by willful misrepresentation or concealment of a material fact. Only a court can strip the citizenship. No agency can do it on its own.

2. **After denaturalization**, the person is no longer a citizen. At that point ICE (Enforcement and Removal Operations) becomes the agency that would place them into removal proceedings and, if ordered, carry out the deportation.

The State Department does **not** handle deportations of people already inside the United States. Its role is mainly visas, passports, and consular functions overseas. So Marco will not be wearing the deportation uniform on the couch as much as we would love to see that.

In short:
DOJ + USCIS handle the denaturalization case.
ICE handles the actual removal afterward, if the person is found removable once citizenship is gone.

Until the court actually revokes citizenship, neither can be deported. Citizenship is the firewall.
