Adam Hamawy, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon from Princeton and a US Army combat veteran, won the Democratic primary for New Jersey's 12th Congressional District.

Running for elected office for the first time, he emerged from a crowded field of 12 candidates seeking to replace retiring Democratic Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman.

Hamawy received endorsements from prominent progressive Democrats, including Bernie Sanders, Tammy Duckworth, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Ilhan Omar. He will face Republican Gregg Mele in the November election.

In an interview with Hasan Piker, NJ-12 candidate Dr. Adam Hamawy confirmes that he supports a full arms embargo and sanctions on Israel.

On the night of Dr. Adam Hamawy's NJ-12 congressional primary win, former Rep. Jamaal Bowman spoke with Drop Site's @JulianAndreone about his reaction to the results, how he helped the now-Democratic nominee get here, and what he thinks about the current surge in populist candidates around the country.

On the AIPAC forces that ousted him from Congress in 2024, Bowman said their mission has backfired: "They gave birth to a new iteration of the movement. We're stronger than ever."

Bowman also hinted that he plans to run again in the future, but is currently focused on fulfilling his role in helping candidates like Hamawy first.
