The Midland University Teacher Career Ladder undergraduates in cohort 6 from Omaha Public Schools, are awarded a special certificate from Mrs. Latasha Muhammad to celebrate the completion of the 2-year program.

Our students in Children, Families, and Communities created activities to engage with our community. We went to Trinity‘s Early Childcare Center and taught their four-year-olds about the importance of trees as they celebrated Earth Day.

On April 22nd, EDU388 Social Studies Methods in Elementary and Middle Grades held a Living History Museum. Students chose the early 1800s time period to showcase in their museum. Each student played a character and led different activities based on the lives of people—

NSEA-AE invited the 2024 Nebraska Teacher of the Year, Scott Phillips to campus to speak to our education students about how to engage students in learning.  He had everyone laughing and smiling and learning! Scott Phillips is a middle school math teacher in Aurora Nebraska.

NSEA-AE hosted our First Year Teacher Panel. We were excited to hear from our most recent graduates after their first year of teaching! Our first year teachers on the panel were Bailey Rolfe, Olivia Engel, and Sam Shepard.

And ECE257 students were challenged to come up with creative ways to get their preschoolers to work together using a beach ball!  Week of the Young Child focuses attention on early childhood programs that meet the needs of young children and their families.

We’ve had fun celebrating Week of the Young Child!  We listened to music during class on Music Monday, ate eclipse-themed treats on Tasty Tuesday, and for Work Together, Wednesday we wrote thank you cards to early childhood teachers in ECE155

This weekend two of our education students attended the NSEA-AE conference hosted in Kearney, NE! They got to meet Instagram famous principal Gerry Brooks!
