@ewarren Households earning around $50K often owe zero or negative net federal income tax after standard deductions, EITC, and child tax credits, limiting the size of any "cut" compared to higher brackets.
The US vs Them thing just needs to stop already. They sound ridiculous. "I can't do this anymore because people I don't like do this." How childish. Who lives their life in such an immature way? Supporting a good idea doesn't have to be partisan or a confirmation that you "are" or "aren't" something. You can simply support it because it's a good thing. They sound like spoiled brats.
@BBCWorld "Euthanize" does not mean shoot with a gun in 2026. WTF?! There are injectable drugs for this, any legit animal rescue handling this quantity of animals should have access to, even in California. There is NO reason those dogs should have gunshot wounds. Outrageous and disgusting
The hearing was not about food scarcity. The hearing was about "Combating Waste, Fraud, and Abuse in SNAP". Coca-Cola does not belong in conversations about food scarcity because it provides zero nutritional benefits. It was a valid question in the hearing because the number one purchase category of snap benefits is soda. It's reasonable to question spending taxpayer dollars for soda in a program for Supplemental NUTRITION Assistance, especially when the cost of the program has ballooned in recent years. The woman testifying, evaded answering obvious questions that anyone with a brain cell wouldn't think twice about because the organization she works for is funded & sponsored by companies such as Coca-Cola.
