@BoomerDivvies In this world you don’t get hand outs. My parents never taught me about finances and it seems a lot of boomers also failed to do this with their kids. If the parents retired with only 600k, they were probably only high school graduates with basic jobs.

@BoomerDivvies I believe as a parent it is your responsibility to raise your kids and teach them about finances, invstments, how money works etc. Maybe co sign to get their first house the parents earned that money but it seems like the parents also failed at teaching the kids about financing.

This is Bonnie Pierce, a 38-year-old mother of three from St. Paul, Minnesota. Her house caught fire. She and two of her children escaped, then realized her toddler was still inside.
Bonnie went back in, found the child, but could not get out. She shielded the child with her body. She died from her burns. The child survived.
A GoFundMe for her family raised about $42,000.
By comparison, more than $1,000,000 was raised on GoFundMe for Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with killing her children.
It is a sad reflection of the society we have become.
