Each year, September 30 marks the legacy of residential schools, the missing children, the families left behind and the Survivors of these institutions. Public commemoration of the painful history and ongoing impacts is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
We are excited to share that we have achieved Bronze-level status in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program. ๐

Spotted: A Midwest UAV hard at work! Our crews complete hundreds of flights a year across western Canada, operating in both urban and rural settings โ bringing clients and landowners a new perspective on the land they live and work on.
Western Canada has seen an unusually rainy summer, with clouds like these becoming a near-daily sight. ๐ง๏ธ
Our crews have worked through the downpours, navigating mud, and equipment that takes days to dry.
We are hoping the back half of summer brings a few more blue-sky days.
You canโt mistake a canola field when you see one โ iconic to the Canadian landscape and a major contributor to our economy.

This Canada Day, we reflect on the diverse stories that make up this country, including the histories and cultures of Indigenous peoples.
However you choose to spend the long weekend, we hope itโs a time for rest, reflection, and connection.

We recognize the significance of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. A day dedicated to recognizing the rich history, heritage, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Mรฉtis Peoples.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a Surveying 101 Camp in partnership with @CAPLCanadian.
The day was split between classroom learning and hands-on outdoor activities, giving attendees a real feel for both sides of the job.
It was a warm and wonderful day indeed!
After 17 years as our President, Kevin Swabey is retiring! ๐ฅณ
Kevin began his 29-year career at Midwest in 1996 as a Crew Chief.
If you've had the pleasure of knowing Kevin, you know that he's just a genuinely great person

We have been slowly rolling bits & pieces out throughout 2025, but are excited to officially share the news.
Today, May 5th is National Day of Awareness and Remembrance for the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Peoples (#MMIWG2S). This day is also known as #RedDressDay, inspired by Mรฉtis artist Jaime Black-Morsette's REDress Project in 2010.
We had the pleasure of attending the Merit Awards last week where we received the Friends of CALEP Award. As always, @CAPLCanadian did a great job with the event. It was well attended and so nice to catch up with other folks in the industry. Thanks for a fun filled evening! ๐
