Upgraded my bedroom nano reef from an 8-gallon to a 15-gallon peninsula a little while ago. Some people have problems getting their corals to grow, my problem is that I’m growing them too fast lol
Purple Anthelia is one of, if not the fastest-growing and easiest corals to keep. It’ll probably grow in a saltwater bucket under a $30 Chinese light. I grow so much of this stuff that I literally have to flush it down the drain
I think the Kessil A80 is unironically the best light you can buy under $150 if you are looking for a super reliable light for a 5-15 gallon mixed reef. I’ve been using this light on my bedroom nano tank since I set it up, and the result kinda speaks for itself
Yellow filter-feeding sea cucumbers are a good way to add really high-saturation yellow colors to your tank if you are not big into fish. I started out with one and it reproduced asexually by pinching itself in half and regenerating
@ClassyDeathclaw Thank you! It’s a lot dirtier now after covid since I don’t have all the free time to keep it spotless anymore but the corals are still doing pretty good
My 8-year-old 50-gallon LPS/soft coral mixed reef tank. This video was taken during quarantine, so the tank looks especially clean since I was spending a ton of time each week on maintenance and micromanaging every little detail
I forgor to mention that you shouldn’t micromanage your reefs if you are just starting out and don’t quite know what you are doing yet, most marine organisms especially corals do best in a stable environment so you shouldn’t be changing things all the time
