How fucking free are you?
Here's something people should probably think about:
If a corporation controls your healthcare…
your employer controls your livelihood…
a bank owns your home…
an algorithm controls what information reaches you…
and billionaires finance the politicians writing the rules…
exactly which part of your life are we calling freedom?
Remember when they sold us the slogan, “Go paperless, save trees, save the planet”? Now we've gone digital, and it's consuming enormous amounts of water, destroying ecosystems, harming bees, and contributing to environmental damage on a scale paper never did.
Full grown adults that can’t swim, cycle, skate, backpack, take a gap year, vacation, play an instrument or speak multiple foreign languages. Just a lifetime of hustling and trying to leave survival mode. These are subtle poverty metrics that no one really talks about
I repeat, academia will not save us, so we better start creating autonomous spaces to think, organize, and fight against these fascist and genocidal institutions that will dispose of us once we step out of line.
African spirituality was demonized because colonizers understood that people rooted in their ancestors, land, culture, and traditions are harder to control
I just want you to remember. That we live in a world where octopuses dream, otters have a favorite shell that they carry with them all their lives, cows have best friends, and bees have different "dialects" of dance depending on the region. Cats purr at a frequency that accelerates bone healing, the forest grows flowers first after a fire, and dolphins give each other names and respond to them. Penguins make proposals by giving each other the most beautiful pebble
Your relationship with yourself cannot be built entirely around improvement. At some point, you have to become someone you are allowed to enjoy being. You get to be proud of who you are. Present tense.
Are we REALLY living through traumatic event after traumatic event, or are we just the first generation with worldwide communication and social media, and life has actually always been this horrific?
The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior has officially confirmed the existence of an online campaign encouraging people to attempt to reach Ceuta. According to the ministry, the campaign falsely claimed that the border was open, that anyone who reached Ceuta would be allowed to remain, that those who swam across would face no legal consequences, and that entry was easy.
Someone wanted to destabilize the country, the elections are coming with Islamists in full force, Morocco just signed numerous partnerships with US, Morocco just launched a pipeline that will help Spain get rid of Russian gas, is negotiating a peace deal with Algeria, and is finally solving the Western Sahara issue. Morocco also doesn't benefit from this since the country is already under pressure with Sahel migration.
When Carl Jung said:
“No matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown allies will come and seek you.”
They say books won’t change the world. Tell that to every colonizer who burned them. To every enslaved person who was punished for reading. Literacy is resistance. Literacy is liberation. The library is a battlefield.
You’re not healing if your peace requires everyone else to be perfect.
You’re not evolving if you always leave before it gets real. You’re not growing just bc you can name your triggers.
Real growth is when you respond diff to the same triggers.
I DO NOT think people fully understand how much 1 billion is. If your salary was $100k with no tax, it would take you 10 years to become a millionaire, but 10,000 years to reach a billion. It is unethical for one person to be hoarding this much wealth while others cannot eat.
