HBO Original documentary series THE PET CEMETERY MURDERS: A GHOST STORY premieres October 11.
A haunting exploration of a community’s dark history of violence and bloodshed.
The past never stays buried.
I could watch the Californians for hours!!
Christina nails this. She's highly talented, as is Wiig. I also liked her in Anchorman with Will Farrel. And, loved her as Kelly Bundy. Then again, who didn't?
This is easily a top ten SNL sketch.
She's the Queen of "just go for it" when performing. She's all in all the time! A comedic icon!
She is the funniest living human. Fight me.
THE SNL SKETCH THAT STARTED WHILE EVERYONE WAS WAITING FOR LORNE MICHAELS
“The Californians” looks like the kind of ridiculous idea that must have taken an entire writers’ room to invent.
It didn't.
The basic joke began much more casually.
During SNL table reads, cast members would sometimes be sitting around waiting for Lorne Michaels to arrive.
Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Kenan Thompson and others had recently been spending time in Los Angeles.
So they started talking about something completely ordinary:
How they had driven around Los Angeles.
One person would ask where someone had gone.
The answer would become increasingly specific.
“I took Sunset…”
“Then I got on the 405…”
“Then I took La Cienega…”
But the way they said it was the joke.
The cast exaggerated the California accent until ordinary directions sounded like the most important information anyone had ever received.
It was basically an inside joke.
Andy Samberg particularly loved it.
Nobody was sitting there thinking:
“Someday this will become one of SNL's most recognizable recurring sketches.”
At that point, it was simply something funny the cast did around the table.
Then something happened that changed the entire idea.
The joke was about directions.
But someone realized it could be about something much bigger.
And suddenly, those ridiculous freeway conversations had the potential to become a soap opera.
Number 4 thought he made a statement when he shoved CJ Carr on the ground.
But CJ had the last word.On the very next snap, he didn’t just call the play — he took it personal.
He ran it straight in himself, right in front of 4.

Here it is, the whole thing, 33 years later.
First saw it in the theater with my eighth-grade Pop Warner team. When the street scene was still in it. All the lines from it lived on, and hold up.
Best sports movie ever.
A woman was with her certified service dog sitting in a chair at a restaurant she frequents when a woman & her teenage daughter walked between the cone barriers set up & almost stepped on her foot so she put her foot out to keep the girl from stepping on it & then they both got in her face yelling at her saying she almost tripped the daughter while almost stepping on her service dog. The staff removed her & her daughter & called the cops who came & looked at security footage & told her to leave the premises.

One of the videos I’m most proud of so far.
I spent a lot more time than usual working on this one, and it’s also one of the longest videos I’ve made. I really wanted to push the atmosphere, emotion and action as far as I could.
Really proud of how it turned out — hope you enjoy it.
