Typical grocery margins are 2%.
Meaning:

First, the city will lose ungodly amounts of money -- at least 28 cents on the dollar.

Second, below-cost stores will steal enough market share that real groceries abandon the city.

Third, taxpayers will get tired of the money hole and slash subsidies.

At which point city groceries become money holes full of rotting food, so New Yorkers will have to take 2 trains and a bus to find a real grocery store.

Here’s a stress test on the argument we had over politics and the military.

So when a “journalist” says “Read my article about destroying the United States of America”, am I allowed to vigorously confront that as a Soldier?

Or when a politician takes that article and says “This is now my platform! I’m running on the key issue of destroying this country!” Am I allowed to confront that as well?

The answer of course is yes. But the old guard wants it to be no. Because Soldiers are best seen as tools. Their rights are an inconvenience to the credentialed class.

Listen, at the end of the day, who do you think is going to have to fight a civil war? Whose blood will spill the most?

Ours.

So it stands to reason we should be able to say things like “Hey maybe it’s not a good idea to overthrow the country because blood will flow.”

That shit used to be common sense like not that long ago. But ideologues have moved SO far to the left that common sense now feels like rebellion.

At the end of the day fuck you, no. You’re not destroying our country for free. There’s a price for getting froggy like that.

Because for some of us the Oath is binding. Maybe it’s the last class of American where we actually take it seriously. I hope not. But it sure seems that way.

I would LOVE to talk about all the good things the Senate Republicans have done, like Sen. James Lankford wanted Larry Kudlow to do. BUT WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?!
