@JimmyJungas@Rat_1960@afneil Speaking as one who was living in Belgium, every one of us expat brits at the time were given permanent right of work and residence.
@SarahScb@afneil A decent man who doesn’t understand the management responsibilities and related effort whjch go with high office. ‘They lied to me’ is a pathetic answer. But he thinks it’s a good one.
@afneil There were children involved who were ipso facto victims. But of the adults ..what does trafficked mean? Were they forced in some way? Are we sure they weren’t just doing it fir the money?
@Quinn25174257 @1PartisanNews @KuyVon@afneil You could get majorities to leave in the 1990s. Before anyone thought eu had anything to do with immigration.
It was and is sovereignty. Immigration is just a recent example of loss of sovereignty in people’s minds.
@mrbigcog @afneil@MailOnline When were we told that? Mainly we were told we would regain more democratic sovereignty. That was always the main issue..not economics...
@MarkJLittlewood like all economists (ft/economist/BBC etc) your analysis is just economic. Ireland didn’t do economic analysis before claiming independence. Doesn’t anyone care about democracy?…imperfect but hugely increased by brexit. Where is BBC democracy correspondent?
@torspedia@Jacob_Rees_Mogg We have only just stopped paying our net contributions. More to the point we are still waiting fir the catastrophes the remain campaign said woukd happen if we left.
@BillBurton5@Democrazy_UK@Rob_Kimbell Unfettered by duties and quotas. Remainers used ‘no access to single market’ to give impression we wouldn’t be able to sell anything to them. They never nuanced what they meant. You complain now boris didn’t nuance.
@matthewsyed Matthew I love your writing. But you have a mental block on Brexit. All the remainers catastrophe warnings have been proved wrong after colliding with reality. The issue is democracy. The Eu has a lot of power and wants more but is a pale imitation of democracy.
@Docstockk The toilets thIng is easy. We should forget having women’s and men’s toilets. We should just have toilets for people with vaginas and toilets for people with penises. Then subjective or objective measures of gender become entirely irrelevant to the debate.
The toilet thing is very easy. We should have toilets for people with vaginas and toilets for people with penises. Not men’s and women’s toilets. No one needs to worry whether anyone is male or female.
