There is a huge opportunity in brokering businesses.
There are 6 million businesses for sale and only 4,500 business brokers.
Each deal...the broker gets 12-15%.
Assuming each business is $100k, that's $16 million in commissions (profit) per broker.
Yes I’d say the same
It so many opportunities stateside for all types of success that very few other places on earth can supply for an enterprising individual.
If I didn’t earn an income online I would’ve missed almost every opportunity over my time outside the states.
Interesting perspective, I’ve been stateside the whole time with exception of Ireland for half of COVID. While I get the appeal of lower costs for food, housing, and daily life in Brazil, do you ever feel you’ve missed out on bigger opportunities by being outside the US for so long? Access to capital, networks of free thinkers, and proximity to friends & family have always struck me as advantages that far outweigh the savings. Curious on your take after all these years.
@DoYouEvenMookie@WallStreetMav 6% isn’t dead. It’s paid on closings everyday in every city in America. Can you get it done for 5%? Yes
Billions of dollars has been spent trying to displace Realtors. To date all attempts have failed.
Most Realtors are out here fighting over $9K checks
I get it. I did it for years. 80 hour weeks, no weekends, cold calls. Rinse and repeat until you're quietly resentful and completely burned out
Then I discovered what business brokers already know:
Stop selling to people stretching their budget. Start selling to people who built something worth millions and need help exiting it
$1M to $12M businesses. Pre-qualified buyers ready to move. Commissions of $120K to $1.2M per deal
I'm personally mentoring a small group of experienced Realtors through this exact transition. I've closed 600+ transactions and lived both sides of it. You'll get a real roadmap, not a course full of fluff
Same license you already have. Completely different life
Best tip I can give first time entrepreneurs:
Skip the startup. Buy a business that already prints money
Founders grind 7 years hoping to hit $1M liquid
Buyers acquire $1M in SDE on day one, often with seller financing
Founder path is a lottery ticket. The other is just a closing date
@Cernovich If I were the greatest writer of my generation like @Cernovich I would listen to myself too. Critiquing your own work leads to better art and a healthy ego keeps the demons at bay
Got a seller who’s been trimming trees for 12 years told me he nets $127k a year
I asked to see his books
$242K
A Corvette payment buried in “vehicle expenses.” His daughter’s braces. A boat he uses twice a summer. Date nights with his wife coded as “client meetings.”
He wasn’t hiding money. He just never separated his life from his business
That’s the gap most owners never find. Until someone makes them recast for SDE
