This is the best route to go down for America 250. No point in trying to replicate mainstream cultural production. Lean into what MAGA actually is—patriotic, daredevil, American Fair kitsch.
Give us Monster Trucks and Revolutionary War reenactors. Not has-been pop stars.
California elections are deliberately engineered to ensure Republicans, particularly statewide, cannot run in the general.
That is the entire purpose of its fake “primary”—to guarantee Democrats are the only candidates on the general election ballot so there are zero down-ticket congressional race coattails for Republican candidates.
OF COURSE they are going to cook the books with manufactured ballots collected after Election Day. They could not make their intentions more obvious.
@AndrewKolvet Grateful for Pratt. He forced their hand and the masks are fully off now. Can we all stop pretending 2020 wasn’t stolen and pass the SAVE Act? Need voter ID and to end mail in voting.
Stargate Command has a message for you.
HAVE YOU SIGNED THE STARGATE REVIVAL PETITION?
No? Well then here's the link.
That's an order SGC personnel.

X is an ecosystem. It is an interesting place to exchange ideas. At root this requires accounts to say interesting things, and for those ideas to trade around and engage minds.
I think this has declined. I think some manipulation of the platform is obvious. Accounts are being boosted that are pretty flat, others are being labeled as trash for no reason. I don’t think it’s good long run for what this place is or even for the financial bottom line.
I don’t like to complain on here because I view my own account as a privilege. I had about 300 followers 5 years ago. But a lot of us notice that we are being suppressed, and I think it’s worth noting openly.
If I ever leave here by the way - it will be an Irish goodbye. I will just delete the account without warning. I am more and more inclined to do this every day because of the obvious platform manipulation that makes me think business priorities are massively overcoming ‘public square’ priorities. Those need to be balanced.
I would like to come here every day and see interesting people say interesting things. I can still do that - but I have to work at it. I didn’t work at it before. End of rant.
@FischerKing64@malmesburyman I’d appreciate it if you stick around, you’re one of my go to people because I know I can still get nuanced, interesting, and amusing takes and from you and the people you repost.
This is justice in a blue state (New York).
State Trooper Christopher Baldner pulls over a family SUV for speeding on the Thruway.
Driver Tristin Goods refuses to show ID and escalates the stop. Trooper uses pepper spray.
Driver floors it and flees at high speed.
Trooper follows training and uses pit maneuver to ram the vehicle and stop the threat.
The SUV crashes. Goods’ own 11-year-old daughter Monica is tragically killed.
Result?
Trooper Baldner was just sentenced to ~7 years in prison for manslaughter.
The father - who caused the deadly chase - walks free after claiming he was “scared for his life.”
I started watching SG-1 at age 15. I was the first in the family to start, but one by one they all joined me. Then one day, even my Dad joined. NOTHING on television held my Dad's interest. He never went to the movies. It was the first time I'd ever connected with him in this way. Not long after he started, he came home one day with the first season DVD box set, and the whole family started watching from the beginning. He kept buying the sets, until we caught up with the currently airing show, and then we watched like clockwork as a family every Friday night, with pizza and soda.
You have to understand, that is a CRAZY thing to type out about my Dad. He never did stuff like that. He was tough to connect with about something that wasn't mechanical or construction. I can't think of a single other fun thing he did with us that wasn't what a kid would consider "chores" or "work." My siblings and I treasured those Friday nights like nothing else. It was an entirely new experience, having something like that where he would quote the lines to you in the middle of the day (Teal'c lines were his favorite, especially the infamous "undomesticated equines" line).
My Dad has been buried for almost 8 years now. My oldest two kids barely remember him and the other two never met him. We recently watched both SG-1 and Atlantis as a family. It's been an emotional ride, sharing this with them yet wishing Grandpa was around to share it with them too. My kids ADORE Stargate. My girls have crushes on Daniel Jackson and John Sheppard. My youngest son wants to BE Jack O'neill. They cried when Daniel ascended the first time. They were over the MOON at the idea of a new series in the works to enjoy. I haven't had the heart to tell them the news that the whole thing has been called off.
Save Stargate!
I’m gonna simply say this: if you are at all interested in a Stargate show with ANY of the original creators/performers involved, now is the time to say something. Otherwise it really will be the end of that chapter forever. Let them know you are THERE
