WATCH: The Dhillon Law Group has filed an emergency petition with the CA Supreme Court to block ACA 8/AB 604.
As partner @MikeColumboEsq explains, the rushed plan violates the Constitution and strips power from the voter-approved Citizens Redistricting Commission.
WATCH AND SHARE: California Republicans fought back against Gavin Newsom and the Democrats unconstitutional, corrupt, redistricting power grab today by filling an emergency petition with the California Supreme Court for disregarding the constitution.
The federal government can seize your property and take it forever even if it can't clearly tell you what crime you committed. @IJ sued the FBI over its civil forfeiture practices, but unfortunately that lawsuit will come to an end after an appeals court refused to correct the lower court. 🧵
In Alaska today with other Dhillon Law attorneys helping the Alaska Republican Party monitor a recount of a statewide ballot measure that missed by just 600 out of more than 340,000 votes. I’ve been on the road for most of the last month—helping run the Arizona Republican election headquarters and litigate issues that arose during the election, before moving on to Pennsylvania to help close out Senator McCormick’s victory. Next week, on to Florida, to zealosly advocate for clients with matters in that state. Then back to California to fight battles for my political clients there. Early next year, it’s back to Arizona for hearings in another high profile criminal defense case. Proud to be part of Dhillon Law Group’s thriving nationwide political and election law practices, as well as our government investigations and white collar defense practice. (All work done in states I am either barred in or in association with local counsel.) Looking forward to time with family for the holidays and then on to 2025!
A new, $1.2 billion office building for California lawmakers is under construction.
In our 3 month long investigation, it appears everyone involved— including some state lawmakers and government officials— signed NDAs to keep secret how the taxpayer funds are being spent.
An important but woefully incomplete story about women leaving “the church,” without a contribution from women active in any denomination, or any church official or expert speaking to the the issue from a theological or practical perspective. https://t.co/mQqMrfBR1U
Excellent reporting on the mind-boggling ineffectiveness of CA government in the face of a heart-wrenching tragedy. Over 160,000 homeless in CA and the news of incompetence by our leaders continues, even as they applaud themselves for their hard work. https://t.co/xNLTGzbQgH
Unanimously re-elected as National Committeewoman by the @CAGOP. I thank our delegates, our campaign staff with @MattShupePR et al., and especially my husband Sarv who generously gives up so much of our time together for the advancement of liberty in our country.
Now as much as ever, we urgently need to rediscover the civic virtues, including the rule of law, that are essential to our nations’s success and happiness. I recently began a personal project to identify those virtues, understand their origins, assess their current vitality, and use them as lenses to view the legal and public policy challenges we face today, especially in California. More on that later.
Happy Law Day! By statute, “a special day of celebration by the people of the United States—(1) in appreciation of their liberties and the reaffirmation of their loyalty to the United States and of their rededication to the ideals of equality and justice under law in their relations with each other and with other countries; and (2) for the cultivation of the respect for law that is so vital to the democratic way of life.” 36 U.S. Code § 113

Thanks for paying taxes, the Treasury will be blowing through all of it momentarily.
Instead of cutting spending though, the Biden admin will demand that you pay more next year.
@RealEJAntoni
Wow! Absolute wrong answer. This is the problem. Rather than address the criminality of some on the campus they deprive all students of their education.
@RandyEBarnett A Columbia faculty group concluding the NYPD is endangering the community and school leadership is responsible? It is quite a mystery why nobody listens to them. Wonder where the students got the mistaken idea their behavior was acceptable.
Encouraged by misguided faculty, they disgraced themselves, their schools, and our country by revealing a stunning lack of the civic virtues needed for a diverse democracy to function. Had their extortion and lawlessness been rewarded, all with a cause would be emboldened. No more, from either side.
The problem, right here: Viewing “ultra-progressive” students as those “who exemplify the mission of higher education by questioning the status quo but are making some fellow students feel scared and are effectively bringing their institutions to a halt.” https://t.co/0mqo9aHOG6
The mission of universities is not to question the status quo just for the sake of doing so. People are sick of professors at overpriced schools who think it is. These students do not exemplify the educational mission, they are trying to extort their political policy wishes by holding schools hostage.
