Thanks for being part of our journey here 💚
We’re still championing OT – just on other platforms.

I am so tired of the way the government talk about school attendance. They have no idea what it is like to be that child terrified of school, standing at the school gates unable to breathe because they’re so anxious. Who forces themselves into school day after day until they can’t anymore. Who is traumatised by the environment - the noise, the expectations, peers, anxiety. We HAVE to reframe the idea that school is the only way to get an education. Of course education is important. But the fear, anxiety and trauma school can cause for some of us is HUGE. Please try to understand. Full attendance is not necessarily the best way to meet every child’s needs.

I’ve just been called a “fucking bitch” by a cyclist because I wouldn’t give way to him on the pavement. The poor lamb had to go into the road to get around me and my guide dog.
Please don't tell a chronically ill person that it could be worse.
We may not have it as bad as someone else but that doesn't invalidate what we go through.
Don't let someone who doesn't know what it’s like to be in your shoes tell you the degree of your problems.
My "high functioning" autism is me appearing outwardly successful but it taking every ounce of myself every second of every day to not make one small (brain wiring related) mistake that literally destroys everything in an instant.
Busy day. Off to the Savoy Theatre to advise them on improvements to their accessibility, then a meeting with Euan's Guide, design a talk for a school & a @phab_charity exec meeting. Then relax 😂

What if we stopped calling it 'borderline personality disorder' and started calling it what it often is: survival patterns from unmet needs, trauma, misrecognition and rejection.

We need to talk about toilet roll dispensers in public loos. There’s the one where the loo roll is trapped in a a circular prison and no matter how many times you spin it, you never get an end you can pull to get started.
