Per Spotrac, the Dolphins would eat $4.95M in dead money in 2026 and $15.63M in 2027 if they traded Brooks.

I don’t know what exactly his 2026 cap number on his new team would be, but it would be pretty low.

I also assume there would be a tax on the contract already being done.

Sources: The #Dolphins and All-Pro LB Jordyn Brooks have agreed to a 3-year, $51.3M extension with $35M guaranteed in a deal done by @ErikBurkhardt of @RocNationSports.

Brooks led the NFL in tackles last season with 183, earning First-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. He’s been identified as a core piece of Jeff Hafley’s new defense.

The NFL has informed teams that it will NOT be holding a Supplemental Draft, meaning Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby will not be eligible to enter the NFL in 2026.

The CBA allows the league to decide whether to hold a Supplemental Draft, and this year, it won’t.
