Georgia and Texas both went 13-3 in SEC regular-season games the last two years and both went 5-2 in true road games in the SEC.
Georgia needed OT at Tennessee and a 13-12 escape at Kentucky.
Texas needed OT at Kentucky and OT at Mississippi State.
That’s the SEC on the road. Not “legitimately bad.” Ugly wins still count.
Arch developed in Sarks system for 2 years. I’m thinking maybe 1 of the 19 starts was in year 2 vs Mississippi State. Quinn skipped HS sr year & had red shirt yr at OSU. Both Vice & Colt had a red shirt year. Not sure what, if any, the extra year developing vs other 3 had on performance.
Sadly, this lazy attack on Amanda isn’t even one of the worst versions I’ve seen on X. Same script every time: minimize the person and the work, ignore the résumé, make it personal, then act like she’s the problem for having a sports opinion. Sports Twitter and political Twitter run on that move. Tribe first, person second, facts optional.
Amanda asked. CJ answered on Locking Horns: His major concern was first-half scoring in big games. Fair on scoreboard comparison. Not fair linking Sat night as the same 2025 problem.
-2025 first halves trend (OSU 0, OU/UGA/A&M): excessive penalties consistently put us behind the chains & killed drives, repeated pool OL blocking, pressures/sacks/and run blocking, minimal first-half RB chunk runs or production.
-2026 first half vs OSU: 1-5 yds in penalties, 4-of-7 on 3rd down conversion, chunk runs of 8 yards, 6 yard, 8 yards, 10 yards, 6 yards , 6 yards , 7 yards, & 5 yards, excluding these 3 plays; Manning sack for negative 10 yards (at least 1 self sacks); Manning sack for negative 6 yards; and a Wingo end around for negative 10 yards (not on the OL).
Coleman bounce pick + Wingo drop that hit him in the hands = the 20-3 deficit. Catch those and it’s 13-17 or 17-17 at the half at a minimum.
In my opinion—Same 1st half scoreboard outcome. Different first-half tape. Different Team. Different structural concerns
Lively debate and great show and work from you 3 as usual!

So Ohio State fans keep saying “2.1 YPC in the 1st half cannot be domination”
This is the problem with stats… they don’t have context. You wanna know why that YPC is so low in the 1st half? These 3 plays:
•Manning sack for negative 10 yards
•Manning sack for negative 6 yards
•Wingo end around for negative 10 yards (not on the OL)
Those 3 plays absolutely tanked the YPC, even though they have nothing to do with the actual run game.
In the 1st half Texas had runs of:
-8 yards
-6 yards
-8 yards
-10 yards
-6 yards
-6 yards
-7 yards
-5 yards
Stop stat watching and watch some damn tape
I’ve seen a lot of folks saying “All Ohio State did was rush 3”. I went back and counted every drop back Arch Manning had
Here’s the breakdown of OSU’s pass rush:
• Blitzed (5+ rushers): 15% • 4-man rush: 54% • 3-man rush: 31%
*RPOs not included*
Circling back. Fair read and valid concerns after Texas State.
Smith dropped 164 and a TD on us. Once Muschamp made the adjustment and locked Mascoe on him in man, it was 4 targets, 0 catches. Smith didn’t have a catch in the last 23:20. Muschamp’s defensive adjustments and those stops are one of the reasons they held OSU to 3 after the break.
According to Pro Football Focus --
Jeremiah Smith against Bo Mascoe: 4 targets, 0 receptions
Jeremiah Smith against everyone else: 12 targets, 8 receptions, 164 yards
@marcusmyers@ontexasfootball Dang auto correct, it was supposed to end with “Prove us right”.
Thanks for all your thoughtful-balanced insights, Marcus—One of the better critical thinkers out there offering up opinions.
@marcusmyers@ontexasfootball Jimmys and Joes matter. So do the X’s and O’s. For the first time in five games against Ohio State and Georgia, I believe Sark and Texas have the advantage in both. Price is right🤘🏻
Last 7 games: 6-1, 4-1 vs ranked teams (2-1 vs top 5 ranked, 2-0 vs teams ranked 6–20).
22-1 in the last 23 at DKR, 11 straight, including wins vs No. 1, No. 3, No. 9. Home dominance is real. The “can’t win the big game” narrative is a couple of elite road losses, not the full sample.
