Today, Chief Inspector David Boddie joined representatives from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Memphis Police Department, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation during a joint press conference announcing the launch of the “Don’t Lie for the Other Guy” campaign in Memphis.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of straw purchasing firearms, a federal felony that can place guns into the hands of criminals and contribute to violent crime in our communities.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to working alongside our local, state, and federal partners to promote public safety and reduce gun violence throughout Shelby County.
