Pure speculation, but worth exploring for the Mets and Giants: A deal involving Willy Adames and Marcus Semien. The Giants would have to eat a good chunk of money in Adames's deal to make it happen, but Adames could play third, Bichette could move to second, and Semien would return to the Bay Area. SF has signaled a willingness to listen to offers for Adames, Chapman, Devers.
Moving on from David Stearns because of this season might not be the appropriate move, says @Ken_Rosenthal.
"You've had some good things happen under him. He just needs to make better decisions."
Charles Barkley: "I got a couple of NBA coaches calling me, and I want to be clear. Crystal clear. So, when I said it was really dumb basketball the other night, I was talking about the (Spurs) players. I want to make it clear that I wasn't talking about Coach (Mitch) Johnson."
Speaking only for me (and perhaps others) there will be no whitewashing here.
I'm trying to think of a bigger disconnect between the likeability of a championship team and the likeability of the championship owner.
USA Today crazy left wing sportswriter Christine Brennan says she’s surprised the South is welcoming a German tourist here for the World Cup. Has Brennan ever actually been to the South before? It’s the kindest place in the country, maybe the world.
People over 80 might disagree but he is iconic! Every era in basketball is different. It’s pure speculation to compare 1973 to this crazy era. No 15’ shots, 50 threes, only 3’s and layups. In ‘73 the NBA was totally different. No 3’s, huge scoring centers everywhere.
That’s the job of ref to clear appropriate space & on the SA player to make an issue of it. Yeah, let’s review & charge Towns with impacting crowd control.
Should the @nba and @OfficialNBARefs review this incident where Karl Anthony Towns asks Knicks fans to crowd Dylan Harper as he attempts to inbound the ball on the final play of Game 5? 👀
NBA rules explicitly state that fans are strictly prohibited from entering the playing area or intentionally interfering with players, whether the player is inbounds or out of bounds. Furthermore, rules state that fans must remain within the physical limits of their own seats.
In an instance like this, Arena security staff is required to back the front row up, and offenders should be ejected. The second video in the tweet below also shows how egregious this violation was.
Meanwhile @BexarCoSheriff in San Antonio announced today that they are beefing up security for Saturday's game given that there will be thousands of Knicks fans for Game 5.

Stephen A. Smith says President Trump had every right to fire back at him, but jokes that his appearance disrupted the Knicks’ momentum and helped cost them Game 3:
“I take no offense at the president coming after me the way that he did. People go after him every day. I’ve certainly gone after him. He has every right to come back and clap back at me. I’m a big boy. I can take it. He’s not phasing me one bit. But this man was raised in Queens, New York. He’s a lifelong Knicks fan. He knows about the suffering that spans 53 years. And when you are a true sports fan, you know that every little thing can disrupt momentum. You had watch parties outside with thousands of people, packed arenas, fans throughout the city, gatherings in Central Park, Bryant Park, and across New York. The momentum was there. The energy was there. And what does this guy do? He shows up, they have to get rid of the watch party, he disrupts the momentum and the fervor, and that is why I blamed him for the loss in Game 3.”
Can somewhat understand the coach, AD & rich booster jumping in the muck, but the university president shouldn’t be dragged along by these characters.
Texas Tech Pres. Lawrence Schovanec, on NCAA gambling rules (Brendan Sorsby)
“I think we have to recognize the rules in place now we’re made long before there were millions of young people walking around with a legal gambling apparatus in their pocket”
Sorsby bet on Indiana football, basketball and Cincinnati hoops…
Yeah, the hell with any guard rails. Every college team should employ a locker room bookie so players can risk a few bucks on Saturday games. What could go wrong?
"It's crazy...because it's not murder, it's not beating somebody..."
Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire defends his QB Brendan Sorsby, who's under fire for gambling on his own team's football games:
Brendan Sorsby isn’t the problem. Texas Tech’s football coach isn’t the problem. The local judge who wink-winked isn’t the problem, either.
At some point the university president - a career academic responsible for all things integrity - has to take a stand & protect his school.
𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: Stephen A Smith responds to President Donald Trump calling him a low-IQ individual.
"You wanna talk about IQ, I could say I could put my IQ against yours, I got something even better I could ask you why you been running from me for the past year since I asked you to talk to me, I could ask you to debate me since you think you’re that dude. We could go a myriad of ways."
😬😬😬
Can anyone articulate why betting ON your team if you’re NOT playing is a bad thing?
I’m sure the logic is sound and reasonable I just haven’t heard or read it yet.
The NCAA is officially broken.
A judge decided that holding Brendan Sorsby accountable for his decisions would be psychologically harmful.
We are living in a simulation.
