SWINGING SOUTH: The No. 1 Ranked Rowing Portal Pickup, @TexasRowing’s Maya Meschkuleit
“The way that we show up for practice is the same way that we will show up on race day.”
Agreed. In athletics, we used to say you are either revealed or exposed. Over time, consistency does that to everyone. It reveals the genuine and exposes those who were never who they claimed to be.
Unprecedented Dominance: Texas Rowing has broken the world record fastest time EVER in the history of the world.
The previous fastest time was set by Romania in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games with a time of 5:52.99.
Texas was 5.284 seconds faster. Just incredible.

One of the best lessons I learned in strength and conditioning is that every athlete in the room has to feel like they matter.
In college, I was thankful to be part of staffs that took this seriously. We were taught early that great coaching is not about gravitating toward the most visible athletes. It is about serving the whole room with consistency, energy, and care.
The starter matters.
The developmental athlete matters.
The injured athlete matters.
The scout team athlete matters.
The athlete who may never receive public recognition still deserves our full attention, standard, and investment.
That was something we emphasized from the intern level all the way up.
Coach the room.
Apply the standard consistently.
Make every athlete feel seen, valued, and coached.
The best strength and conditioning environments are built through trust, consistency, and the daily commitment to serve the whole team.
