Reliable, standardized identification is foundational to a fair and efficient music industry. By developing the infrastructure necessary to support automated assignment of ISRCs for @IFPI_org, we’re helping to reduce friction and focus on getting music to market with confidence.
Handling ISRCs just got simpler.
SoundExchange and @IFPI_org just introduced a new way to automatically assign ISRCs (the codes that help track your music globally).
This means:
✅ Reduced administrative burden
✅ Improved data accuracy
✅ Faster, more accurate tracking of your music
This capability helps ensure recordings are properly identified from the outset, supporting more efficient tracking, reporting, and royalty distribution. Especially impactful for independent artists and small labels!

AI is a huge opportunity, but without the right guardrails it can put creator rights at risk.
I spoke with @Forbes about what’s at stake, how @SoundExchange is protecting creators, and why consent, credit, and compensation matter.

Amid the ever-growing popularity and influence of Latin music, we’re delighted to execute this new agreement with CAPIF for performers, reflecting our shared commitment to greater transparency, broader representation, and more efficient royalty collections.
We are delighted that CAPIF has signed a bilateral agreement with SoundExchange to ensure that performers get the royalties they deserve when their music is played across Argentina and the USA.
Building on SoundExchange’s October announcement of our partnership for rights owner royalties, CAPIF is now moving forward within the framework of the new regulatory regime and into a new phase as a collective management organization representing both record producers and performers.
NEW: Support continues to grow on both sides of the aisle. @eleonard1987 of the Christian Music Trade Assn met with Republicans on Capitol Hill last week and lays out the conservative case for passing the American Music Fairness Act in @DC_Reporter today. https://t.co/os9cibBhwm
Thank you to @eleonard1987, President and CEO of the Christian Music Trade Association, for your strong support of the American Music Fairness Act.

While radio generates nearly $14 billion in advertising revenue each year, performers earn nothing. The solution is simple: Congress can't protect radio without protecting artists.

Ireland's new national treatment law is a significant victory for American creators. As Ireland prepares to lead the EU Council in July, this new law sends a powerful message to the remaining European countries that still must enact national treatment.
Irish President Cathrine Connolly signed a law extending national treatment to American sound recording performers, ensuring equal treatment for American creators and bringing Ireland into alignment with European Union law. 🇮🇪
SoundExchange celebrates Ireland’s adoption of the new law, marking another vital step towards fair compensation and a stable global rights system that benefits the entire community of music creators. 💙
Thank you to @johnrich for speaking up and calling for the passing of the American Music Fairness Act. As John puts it, passing #AMFA, "would tell the world that we stand with artists — not with the Big Radio companies that continue to profit by exploiting them."
Big Radio’s had a free ride for too long. @johnrich says it’s time artists get artists paid for their music. #NoRadioWithoutRoyalties
