@patrickbetdavid I like the idea but I would rather the numbers not be static and I dont believe pinning to inflation is enough because the official inflation numbers can be manipulated. Maybe it could use the lowest starting point of top 3% or 5% earners as the starting point.
@elie2222 So far it's just good enough to be a little valuable. Its especially good at fooling non technical people with answers that look good. I think that's where some of the hype is coming from.
@yashmp2004 A service should own its own data. If two services are in play and need to operate on the same data they should go though the services that owns the data.
You dont have to run a company to understand these ideas. Regular employees know a good manager that leads and measures the right things to encourage productivity. If there is someone slacking off it should be apparent someone isnt working. Measuring mouse wiggling and butts in the chair is going to signal to employees that's what you value. What employees think you value is what behavior they will aim for. You won't get more productive people, you will get more mouse wiggling and people will see showing up as success.
@TheICHpodcast I can work from home and get shit done but I dont want a camera recording everything I do. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. There are other ways to measure productivity besides staring at a live feed for 8 hours.
@doubleoh57501@svpino 100% agree. Upper management is realizing they are paying more for AI and seeing not much gain. In my opinion the gain is offset from the cost of usage plus human cost of reading and fixing the code.
@UziCryptoo Property tax should be constitutionally banned. It is criminal to tax someone every year on an asset they own based in a theoretical value they might get if they sold it.
