NEW from @dailycaller on the NYT's catch and kill operation:
- A source tells @wupton that the NYT had two women prepared to make sexual assault allegations against Platner.
- Those details were revealed to Fifield, presumably to make her feel more comfortable coming forward
- They never made it into the story, allegedly being removed at the behest of NYT editors and Platner's lawyers.
- The Platner campaign was originally only given two hours to respond, but that stretched into 24 hours, contrary to what interview subjects were told
I’ve heard of this guy as a dark and imbalanced character for years. Women know that special kind of friend’s ex whose full-ass name you know long after they dated bc of the badness, and then he runs for Senate, and you’re like “wait, THAT GUY?!” And it’s hard to speak up about a guy like that, who has quite a bit of power and seeks more, but my friend Lyndsey’s accusations are specific and detailed about what happened and didn’t, backed by physical diaries and texts from long before he ran. They confirm that a man with a Nazi tattoo does indeed have a bunch of bad decisionmaking and impulse control problems and his behavior can be more than unsettling. If he’s healing, which last week’s story doesn’t indicate, he should do it somewhere other than the Senate.
There's actually a simple answer to this: backup cameras.
Backup cameras in every car make it easier for people to back into spots and feel confident that they're not going to hit anybody.
Why do people reverse into parking spaces?
At first it was one or two misdirected fools, now it's spreading like a disease.
It makes no sense. You are only making it so much harder for yourself, and everyone hates you as you block the road trying to get into the space.
Tom Steyer keeps running around saying that it’s unfair that billionaires like him can buy our democracy, then spending hundreds of millions dollars to do just that, then failing to get elected, and then repeating all the same lines the next time around. It’s extremely funny.
King George: "There will be consequences for your actions."
Thomas Jefferson left the chat.
Ben Franklin left the chat.
John Hancock left the chat.
250 years later, we're still glad they did. 🇺🇸
Pretty much all of the prominent voices who supported the Iran War assured us it would be over by now. None of them will admit they were wrong. Even less will they admit that their initial assurances were based on nothing but their own wishcasting. This whole shitshow has been an enormous waste of time and resources and our country has not benefited from it at all. Its advocates have moved the goal posts repeatedly and have even to this day refused to clearly articulate what constitutes a victory and how we’ll know that it’s been achieved.
My 16yr old son finished his first shift at his first job last night. Picked him up at 10pm and he looked beat.
He was a little sad on the way home.
I asked what was wrong.
He said he felt like he’s growing up too fast and that his childhood is over now.
Instead of dropping out of hyperspace with a clear shot of the Rebel base on Yavin 4, The Death Star drops out of Hyperspace on EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE SIDE of the Yavin gas giant, and slowly orbits it towards Yavin 4, giving the Rebels plenty of time to stage their attack run. 🤷♂️
