- the number has a precedent: Dark Souls got its PC port in 2012 after a petition of nearly 100,000 - and Bandai Namco credited the fans directly
- it's not one petition anymore: Push Square counts at least 15 separate campaigns demanding a reversal
- sony's own announcement post now carries a community note spelling out that a digital purchase is a license, not ownership - more replies than likes, 127 million views
- meanwhile in Austria, Sony's disc plant is already converting: 300 workers are retraining to make optical microlenses, with mass production set for early 2027 - a year before discs officially die, per ORF
