@samesfandiari Since the refs stopped calling so many grifter fouls the past couple months, it has enabled good basketball to flourish, which helps the Dubs and makes viewing more enjoyable.
@gmiller Regularly jumped off our roof into the pool. Rode bikes 5-10 miles from home. Roamed the woods for hours on end. Most swimming done in lakes containing gators and snakes. Owned a shotgun at age 10. Only drank water out of a hose. Trick-or-treating w/o adult supervision.
Agreed, problems are improvements in disguise. Unfortunately we have instincts to seek homeostasis/avoid change, even for the better. Makes it natural to ignore problems. Fortunately we can use deliberate practice models like the Improvement Kata to overcome unhelpful mindsets!
Though it won't feel that way at first, each and every problem you encounter is an opportunity; for that reason, it is essential that you bring them to the surface. Most people don't like to do this, especially if it exposes their own weaknesses or the weaknesses of someone they care about, but successful people know they have to. #principleoftheday
@TheSopranosClub “I remember my mother and my father arguing about something and she kept talking about my father's feeble minded brother and I always thought she meant you.”
Type in “Thank my Amazon driver” to your Amazon search bar and they’ll give your last delivery driver an additional $5 at no cost to you!
Happy holidays!
@stickynotehero Great question. It’s hard but I try to sense where the person’s knowledge frontier is and calibrate accordingly. For some they’ll need to be given more of the answer early on but less later as they extend their knowledge frontier.
@bradford_hardin Probably a combination of:
1) somebody being opportunistic/trying to get experience and/or more money early on on their career
2) companies having zero loyalty to employees/reductions in force/complete company re-orgs
3) life circumstances/move cities to care for a loved one
