8 Years.
That is how long it’s been since we last got a game starring @SpyroTheDragon. Sure, we had seen him as a side character and as an easter egg, but 8 long years since we last got a Spyro game. Furthermore, it has been almost 20 years since the last time we saw a brand new Spyro adventure.
And today, that changes. Today, we finally see Spyro make his return in his own, brand new game. Spyro: A Realm Beyond.
I have been chasing after this game for years, lovingly nicknaming it “Spyro 4”. I covered nearly every aspect that I could, looked in places no one would think, spent and poured THOUSANDS of hours into it. I have made almost 100 videos discussing, speculating, investigating, reporting, and hoping. Hope; That’s something that is powerful and beautiful. I have held onto Hope for this game to come for almost a decade. I believed every word that I have said in my videos and have always tried my best to articulate my points, thoughts, and theories. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t made mistakes along the way. I have made wrong predictions, wrong assumptions, I have missed details and suffered backlashes because of them all.
But there’s one thing that I can hang my hat on, it’s not my predictions, not my analysis, not my interviews, or even my reports…
It’s that I DID NOT lose Hope.
But I wasn’t alone in that Hope. There are many of you, too many to name, who have also held onto Hope, and many of you supported me through these long 8 years. With that, I am beyond grateful. Words cannot express the love that has been shown to me; even when Hope seemed at its bleakest, many of you continued to support me. So to all those who joined me on this journey, whether you were there day one, or discovering me today, thank you.
If you supported me once, and walked away because you lost Hope; I don’t blame you. To say this was easy would be a lie. I’ve stayed up late many nights, wondering if this was the right thing for me to continue doing, so I understand.
But I believed, if we, as a community, held onto Hope, were positive, and patient, that something would come. And nothing makes me happier than to see, hear, and read your reactions. I may spend the rest of the day just doing that.
I also want to thank @paul_d_yan and @ToysForBob for actually bringing our purple boy back. They could have decided to make whatever they wanted, and they decided to return to Spyro. No matter what happens, I appreciate your hard work, and we will support you in the coming months, and the coming years.
Today, this chapter ends; but a new one begins. A new adventure, a new era, a new beginning. This story is not over;
The Adventure Continues.
