Was Newcastle United's signing of Elanga under or overpriced?

I'm looking for another set of 20 Premier League fans for the 2025/26 season!
If you're free on the 28th of July in London and would like to be involved please reply to this!
@RitabhPandey I'm not sure that's the only reason why that term was applied to wingers, it has more to do with them cutting into the centre rather than hugging the touchline like traditional wingers. inverted full-backs do the same thing by moving into the centre, just for different reasons
Andoni Iraola: Rayo Vallecano > Bournemouth (2023)
Kepa Arrizabalaga: Real Madrid > Bournemouth (2024)
Dean Huijsen: Bournemouth > Real Madrid (2025) ?
Fran Garcia: Real Madrid > Bournemouth (2025) ?

If I were Brighton, Forest, Fulham or even West Ham I'd be making serious enquiries about Delap... United and Chelsea are risky places to go and there's no guaranteed starting spot at Newcastle as long as Isak is around.

@jdshdavis True but only 2 or 3 players in the entire squad will be under the age of 25. Priming the next generation is important as well as bringing young energy into the camp to keep things fresh
Seeing a lot of disbelief at this debate. My take:
- By WC 2026 Nwaneri will be 19 and could be scarily good
- He has developed in a possession system, like Tuchel's
- England need more creativity, and Bowen is primarily a scorer
- Ageing squad, we need a youngster in there imo
@joel_s0 - I don't see this at all. Even this season Arsenal's football has still been primarily based on dominating the ball.
- fair point but I think this is partly because Arsenal have struggled to find goalscorers elsewhere in the team this year. Can see Nwaneri evolving next year
and to conclude: it's not about who is the better player (obviously Bowen right now), but who will fit the system better. England have repeatedly failed in the past when picking players purely based on club form/importance
This was a lot of fun!
For the first time, we did The Lowdown live and @LyesBouzidi10 and @MikeMcCub were on sensational form
