And the bill passed in the legislature in the 2026 was awesome!
SB 194 includes two major components: (1) reducing conflicts of interest for the lieutenant governor in the role of Utah’s chief elections officer, and (2) strengthening neutrality requirements for county clerks.

@LindsayOnAir@UtahOED Help me understand the photo being used. I grew up in Emery County. Obviously I recognize the image, but I’m not sure why it’s relevant the story. 🤷🏻♂️
North Dakota is cracking down on kratom. Well done.
This isn’t about attacking people who use kratom. It’s about protecting the public from potent, largely unregulated products that have been linked to addiction, overdose, and deaths. Public policy should be guided by science, not marketing.
North Dakotans are overdosing and dying from a product you can buy off the shelf in a convenience store without any regulations or age requirement. We have a responsibility to our citizens and young people to educate them on the risks of these substances and limit access to protect their well-being.
Today, we signed an emergency pharmaceutical order, issued an executive order, and announced our plan to call a special session of the Legislature to address kratom enforcement.

@America1stLegal I’d like to introduce you to your client. Before you decide to champion his cause, you may want to familiarize yourself with how he publicly talks about people.
It snowed last night! Normally, I wouldn’t be excited to see snow in late June, but with all of the wildfires burning across the West, seeing snow is pretty awesome.
Hopefully cooler temperatures helps our firefighters, slows the fires down a bit, and brings some much needed relief. Thank you to everyone on the front lines working to protect our communities.
@gopTODD I could be wrong, but isn’t this the same senior adviser to a U.S. senator who helped direct hundreds of thousands of dollars attacking Blake Moore?
Seems like that money could have been better spent helping Republicans in competitive races. 🤷🏻♂️
Thrilled to win the GOP nomination for Utah County Clerk. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who supported this campaign. I can't thank you enough for placing your trust in me. I look forward to victory in November and serving Utah County with integrity and dedication. 🙏 #utpol
JUST IN: With almost all ballots now processed in Utah County, Clerk @ARDavidson has been unseated by @astillck, and Sen. Brady Brammer holds on against Kelley Smith.
Stuart Adams is a good man who has done more good for Utah than most will ever know. He is an exceptional leader in the #utsen and his shoes will likely never be filled. #utpol
A fire broke out in our neighborhood today, and I just want to say thank you.
The Spanish Fork Fire Department and all of the other agencies that responded were outstanding. The response was fast, organized, and impressive. This happened while I was at the State Capitol, and before I could even be concerned, the fire was under control.
I also want to give credit to my neighbors. Before the fire crews even arrived, people were already out helping, moving equipment, and doing whatever they could to protect homes and support one another.
Days like today remind me how fortunate we are to live in this community. Thank you to everyone who showed up.

Primary ballots were mailed out this week and need to be returned by Tuesday, June 23rd! Several people have asked who I am supporting in the primary. I thought I would share who I am voting for and why.
Congressional District 3: Celeste Maloy. Celeste has been a principled, hardworking voice for Utah in Washington, and I am confident she will continue to represent our state well.
Utah County Clerk: Corey Astill. Corey is committed to fair, accurate, and secure elections, and to running the clerk's office with the transparency and professionalism our county needs.
County Commission Seat A: Michelle Kaufusi. Michelle's experience as Provo's mayor has prepared her well to lead at the county level with sound judgment and a proven record of getting things done.
County Commission Seat B: Carolina Herrin. Carolina is smart and dedicated, and she will bring a fresh perspective and a strong voice for South Utah County to the county commission.
Local elections shape our communities and are decided by the people who show up. Whoever you decide to support, I encourage you to make sure your voice is heard and to vote in this election.
What a week for our community! Huge congratulations to the Salem Hills SkyHawks on winning the 5A state softball championship and the Spanish Fork Dons on capturing their second consecutive 5A state baseball championship, the 10th title in school history.
Also, a big shoutout to the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles on a tremendous baseball season and hard-fought finals series. Seeing these three local teams compete at the highest level speaks to the talent, dedication, and family support behind these programs. We have a lot to celebrate in South Utah County!
